Seeing no reason not to eat the pancakes Lord Jarot digs in. Fort defense is 14 if he gets a save roll=7
If aware he will be recovering around space F2gee I hope I did that wrong fort defense-10+1d20 right? and i'm not sure if is unconscious or not
[sblock=Saves and Defenses in 4e]Right, so things have changed a little since 3rd edition. Fort, Reflex, and Will are just defense types like AC is. All attacks are going to be against one of those four defenses. The save mechanic is now basically a duration tracker. In almost all cases, you make a saving throw by rolling a d20, adding absolutely nothing, and hoping you got a 10 or higher. So your save would have actually been a 3.
For example, in 3rd edition if a dragon breathed fire on you, you would get to make a reflex save to avoid it. In 4e, now the dragon is the one rolling the dice to see if you're hit. If you are hit, then in later rounds you'll take saving throws to see whether you keep burning.
So in the case of the pancakes, the 18 Kalidrev rolled was an attack against Fort (I assume). If this matched or beat your Fort, your character was "hit" by the pancakes. Then we had to make saves to see how quickly we recovered from the booze.
Normally, the only downside to failing a save is that you're still affected by the condition (for example, you're still on fire). Occasionally you'll be hit by things like these pancakes, that punish you even harder for failing a save. The medusa's turn to stone ability works like this, as first you're slowed, then immobilized, then petrified as you continue to fail saves, representing a gradual turning into stone.
So the pancakes hit your Fort, and you failed your first save, which means you are currently unconscious.[/sblock]
Lo-Kag stirs from his deep sleep and gets up. "Did I miss anything?"
"Yeah, breakfast. Just kidding, there's still some left. You should try the pancakes," Alexia replies, radiating innocence.
