[sblock=ooc]Actually, it looks like the only turn that didn't get rolled for was hornedturtle's. Otakkun is waiting for an update to take his. Everyone else got in before IC went down.[/sblock]

Masumi creates magical sparrows that fly at Tracker's eyes, but unfortunately for her, Tracker sees the illusory sparrows for what they truly are and lets them flow through his form harmlessly. As the fallen bandit picks himself up and dusts himself off, he sees spectral flowers blooming all over his body. It's the last thing he ever sees, as a blast of mental energy disintegrates what was left of a very fragile mind. The bandits' head explodes is a shower of gore, spattering the surrounding vines. The bandits body slumps to the floor with a wet *SPLOCK* and lies still.

Lo-Kag dashes towards the hole in the side of the cabin, next to Gurdan and gives him a few pointers, showing him an opening in Tracker's defenses, but alas, Gurdan's weapon slides off of the metal cat's skin with a ringing *CLANG* and leaves no lasting impression.

Alexia summons magical energy that flows through her silver tongue and into her words, refreshing a recovering Masumi. Placing her hand on the engine once more, Alexia makes contact with the elemental that rages inside of the burning machinery.

"You nice! Let Qlorkvqxin out so can blast cage! To small here, feel bad. You let Qlorkvqxin out?"

The elemental seems to calm down and you can feel the heat of the engine subside a bit, though the original fire has not yet been extinguished.

While Alexia is communicating with the elemental, Grryth busies himself with spinning and slashing, dashing and hacking. One of his axes takes the bandit behind Gurdan in the back of the neck, silencing him forever. His other axe arcs towards the bandit to his left, but it fails to connect as the bandit takes a step backwards, just out of reach of the shifters weapon.

Gurdan, inspired by Lo-Kag's instructions, takes another swing at the metal beast, but once again the metallic hide seems to be too sturdy to be effected by the wardens' hammer. Concentrating for a moment, rocks form on the dwarf's skin, hardening in place and protecting the dwarf from harm. The earth sustains the dwarf and he, too, feels refreshed.

[sblock=Skill Challenges]

Skill Challenge 1: 3 Successes (of 6), 0 Failures (of 3)

Skill Chalenge 2: 0 Successes (of 6), 1 Failures (of 3)

Alexia's diplomacy check was a success. No one has attempted to make a check against Skill Challenge #2 yet, so for round 3 a failure has accrued. If Garrick does not attempt something against Skill Challenge #2 on his turn, then another failure will accrue. [/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]
OK so who's turn is it? Are we just waiting on Garrick now to finish off the round?
[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC] Yes, we are waiting on Garrick. If he doesn't act by the end of the day, could you NPC him DMDanW? [/sblock]

[SBLOCK=NPCing Garrick]
Yes no problem there. I am just REALLY anxious to get the game moving again. It seems like forever since Grryth got to sink his axe into something.

[sblock=Grryth] You'll get your chance :) The delay is mostly my fault (and my dead PC), but we should get this ball rolling soon. [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]I'm not super-knowledgeable regarding Eberron lore and all the various rules of the setting. What exactly is the deal regarding elemental engines? I mean, there's a sentient creature in there, and it sounds like he wants out. Do all elemental engines require this type of captivity, or is the elemental usually a willing participant?

I also get the feeling that a lot of people will be upset with me if I actually let the guy out. How bad would it be, roughly?[/sblock]

[sblock=Eberron lore]
Simply put, the elemental is BOUND to the object, thus giving it it's power. So, yes it is held against its will for the most part. That is why, depending on what you read and how you view it, it takes a strong willed operator to command and operate an elemental vessel.

I can't remember exactly, but freeing the elemental from the vessel usually destroys the vessel in a bad way...
Of course it is really up to DM who he wants to script it out.

[sblock=The release and care of your engine elemental: A house lyrandar users guide]

Let's put it this way... You're group has very little healing left, and most of you have just under bloodied hit point levels. The lowest level elemental is a level 11 skirmisher. Without someone with a Lyrandar dragonmark or an extensive amount of arcane knowledge (Arcana: DC 16 with a dragonmark or DC 21 without), it would be very difficult to keep the creature controlled while it IS bound, let alone if it were not. If you were to release it (and your character would know this), you can bet it would cause a swath of destruction that could only be handled by mid-high Heroic adventurers (7-8th level) or higher, or maybe an army of lower level adventurers!
