Somewhat dismayed as he sees the target of his carefully planned assassination move away, Feall quickly adjusts his strategy. He drops another shroud over his target, then again focuses his will. The Khyber's eyes turn solid black as shadows enter his thoughts, calling on the weakness of will found by Feall's still echoing threat.

Rumbum tilts his head in disbelief as stares at his foe, not knowing what is causing the enemy so much pain and agony. Seeing that he can use this to his advantage, Rumbum slices down hard towards the foe's head. His axe misses his target badly, with the momentum of his swing causing him to strike the ground hard...sparks fly.

River feels the urge of killing and continue to attack his opponent, but these men are quick, faster than perhaps Feall or Sheeva, and sidestep the attack.

"Very nicely done Pok!" Sheeva smiles.

Pok seizes the moment and rushes after Sheeva, moving his tiny legs as fast as possible. Diving between River's legs then skittering under and past Sheeva's flying form, Pok comes to a stop next to the landing drow. Not much in the way of escape routes, let's hope this place isn't a dead end. Pok smiles at Sheeva Unless you can fly us all out of here?

Pok looks at Rumbum Hello, are you a friend? the gnome shakes his head at the social awkwardness. Other than not wanting to be sacrificed to the Voice I mean. You wouldn't, just for an example, attack me after we defeat these cultists?

Sheeva's blast leaves the cultists battered and bloodied, their blood pools and then a black miasma rises from the liquid, surrounding the humans.

The one next to Sheeva points his arm skyward calling out "Oh great Khyber show these heathens the power we command" and a blast of dark energy engulfs those nearest. Sheeva takes the worst of it, and even the mighty orc finds himself victim to the assault. The man is borne aloft on a wave of darkness, soaring over next to River.

The other man steps away from Rumbum and also unleashes the dark energy, flying up and over the orc to land next to the drow and gnome.

The ballistas fire ineffectively, a few minor wounds on Rumbum and River the only effect.

B2: shifts to O47 - uses Burst Skyward - vs ref (rumbum, River, Sheeva) (1d20+12=13, 1d20+12=31, 1d20+12=19) misses RUmbum, hits River & maybe SHeeva unless KD wants to use Storm Soul to block the attack for 12 necrotic necrotic (2d10+5=12)

Ballista & 1: use Lightning Burst centered on O47 - vs ref (sheeva, rumbum, river) (1d20+9=16, 1d20+9=19, 1d20+9=22) hits rumbum and River for lightning (1d10+5=8, 8 lightning

vs ref (sheeva, rumbum, river) (1d20+9=11, 1d20+9=15, 1d20+9=13) 3 x misses

wow the ballista's are 2/10 right now.

OOC: Sheeva will use Sudden Scales Immediate Interrupt on the second foe's attack, which gave her +4 to all defenses against that attack.


OOC: Also, do any of the PCs get Opportunity Attacks against B1 or B2?

Correct me if I'm wrong renau1g, but these two foes should have taken more damage.

The were both at 29 damage last round:

B1 = 29 + 11 River + 17 Sheeva + 5 for attacking Sheeva + 5 starting turn in zone = 67 damage

B2 = 29 + 24 Sheeva + 5 for attacking Sheeva + 5 starting turn in zone = 63 damage

Does this kill either of them? (wishful thinking)

Sorry about that. I was updating it around 1am this morning and fell asleep in the middle of it. Neither is dead however... good things those balistas can't hit the broad side of a barn...[/sblock]

OOC: Opps. Nevermind. Didn't see the part about them not provoking OAs with their flight. Also, Sheeva used her AP last round. I'll update her stat block.

OOC: Pok used Fade Away after first contact, is currently invisible. Will be updating with his turn after I get back from visiting the fam for thanksgiving.

Rumbum smiles a warm smile at Pok. You help Rumbum...Rumbum help... Before he can finish his sentence the dark magic engulfs his body.

Aggghhhh Get away from me black stuff! The orc shakes his head violently and looks for a foe to charge. He finds one next to the healer. YOU GET AWAY FROM THE ONE WHO HEAL RUMBUM! In blinding speed the orc overpowers the foe. However, on his last step he trips over a piece of rubble, causing his sure strike to miss. The sound of his waraxe clanking off the wall is deafening...sparks fly

Feall sees his enemy fall and turns his attention to the ballistae. Shadows converge and swirl around the assassin and the nearest ballista, thickening rapidly until both are wrapped in inky darkness.

The black blade of his falchion lashes out of the shadows at the northern ballista, but he's overeager with his strike and it clangs harmlessly against the platform.
