[Adventure] Trouble in Moonwatch (Judge: THB) - Part II

"You like throwing Lightning and Thunder around and hurting my friends? Good. I eat Lightning and Thunder for breakfast. You'd better crawl back into your slimey little hole or I'll dig a new permanent one for you." Sheeva says to the Snake, her eyes flashing red the moment before darkness surrounds her and thunder flies out of it and throws the Snake 25 feet away.

River, dazed by the serpentman, simply stay focus on the ongoing effect of her goddess. He then focus and let's her goddess will flow again in the same area, but that time, it's seems less effective.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Minor: Sustain power.
AP: Hymn of Ressurgence [D4-H8] (Crocodile, Mound) (1d20+10=21, 1d20+10=11) That's against Fortitude. I think I hit no one (Hit: -2 def and fall prone if hit, last UEoNT). Faell and Valahad can either gain 5 THP or make a save now.

End of Turn: Save: Save (1d20=8) (Still dazed) Not a good turn.[/SBLOCK]

"OW!! OW!! Bad Chomp-Chomp! No hurt Kortauhk and peoples!"

Forcing the giant beasts mouth open with his large hands, Kortauhk leaps out from the tooth filled maw of destruction just before it slams back down into place, and the goliath places his shield in front of him in a defensive posture while he tries to catch his breath. The Goliath's wrist guards begin to glow and a feint outline of force can be seen around the warden. Spirits of air swirl around both the Croc and the bugs attacking the lamb and drag them next to Kortauhk. Continuing to swirl around Kortauhk's enemies, they position themselves between Kortaunk's allies and his enemies. The goliath kicks water at the giant croc's eyes to keep its attention off of Valahad, who seemed to be convulsing from a bolt of lightning, and then he kicks water at the bugs, trying to make sure they don't run away. Looking around to make sure that the lightning that struck Valahad was not his, Kortauhk frowns at the appearance of a snake man.

"Kortauhk and peoples be in bad place! Stay under spirit cloud! More spirits come and help! Kortauhk make Chomp-Chomp fight Kortauhk! Peoples need get Plant-Walk-Man, but no use Zap-Zap!" he shouts at the others.

[sblock=Actions]
- Move: 31 Athletics vs Croc fort to escape from Grab.

- Minor: Stone's Endurance: gives Kortauhk resist 5 all until end of next turn (I know this part is redundant with River's power, but read on...) AND all creatures that are marked by Kortauhk (bugs/croc) take an additional -5 penalty to attack anyone but Kortauhk until the end of his next turn (EoNT).

- Standard: Second Wind: Kortauhk spends a healing surge and heals 16 damage and gains a +2 (untyped) bonus to all defenses. Kortauhk's Stormheart build kicks in and this drags the bugs back over to be adjacent to Kortauhk and it slows both the Bugs and the Croc until the end of Kortaunk's next turn (EoNT). Second Wind also activates the property of Kortauhk's Parry Gauntlets, granting him a +2 (item) bonus to all defenses.

This means that bugs/croc take a -10 penalty to hit any of Kortauhks allies that are within the effects of my Nature's Abundance power!! (-3 [normal mark w/ dragon mark bonus], -5 [Guard of Stone feat bonus for using Stone's endurance], -2 for cover while within Nature's Abundance)
- Free: Mark both Croc and Bugs. [/sblock]

Feall again calls on his link to the shadow realms, dropping another shroud onto the Shambling Mound to deepen his understanding of his opponents weaknesses before unleashing a vicious attack against the creatures will. A tiny black dart shoots from the Drow's outstretched hand, striking the Mound squarely. The creature is enveloped in cold gloom, and Feall feels his connection to the mound grow stronger.

Sure, no problem, save at start of turn deal extra 9 damage [/sblock]

Shifting to see the battle, Pok tries widening the area of his projectile illusion spell, creating a horde of mosquito, the bugs are not bothered by the effect, but the crocodile lets go of Korthauk as its mind is embattled by the illusions.

The insects tear into the lamb, but find it is an illusion as it dissipates. Unsatiated, they move to the nearest source of food, Korthauk. The goliath feels them stick their proboscis into his flesh, the sting is somewhat lessened by River's prayer and the poison doesn't bother you.

[sblock=ooc]
1d20 10=26 hits for 2d6 2=8 3 after reductions, ongoing 5 poison (save ends)[/sblock]

The crocodile looks at River hungrily after having failed to hold onto Korthauk. It moves to bite the shifter and opens itself up to the goliath, but the warrior's blade fails to penetrate the tough skin. The maw snaps shut on River and the wound is fairly severe even with his shielding, but Pok's illusions keep the crocodile from holding onto the shifter.

[sblock=ooc]
OA - 1d20 12=17, 1d8 6=12 miss
Croc - vs ac; dmg (1d20 8=25, 2d8 5=17) hits River for 12 after reductions no grab though (stupid Pok)
save (1d20 2=17)

The mound stands up and continues flailing at Feall, but the drow continues his dexterous dance and dodges one of the tentacles.

1d20 12=18, 1d8 6=7, 1d20 12=26, 1d8 6=9 one hit one miss for 4 after reductions[/sblock]

The snake slithers back on land, moving through the water with ease. "Nissse trick, letsss see how you like it" it hisses as it again launches a globe of crackling energy that explodes behind Sheeva and Pok. Sheeva escapes some of the jolt, but it even overcomes her own innate resistance.

[sblock=ooc]
vs Fort (pok, sheeva); thunder damage (1d20 9=28, 1d20 9=15, 2d10 3=7) hits Pok for 7 & sheeva for 2 & both are dazed (save ends). Sheeva has the option of using her interrupt though to negate the attack. [/sblock]

[sblock=Nature DC 15]
Shambling mounds roam swamps and marshes. The common variety envelops its prey and crushes it with its rootlike tendrils. Shamblind Mounds recover their vitality quickly.

The insects are known as Swamp Striders and they carry a deadly poison when they bite. They are considered a delicacy for some nobles when properly roasted.
[sblock=Nature DC 20]
Shambling mounds are healed by lightning. They can envelop lesser sized creatures and drain their strength. [/sblock] [/sblock]

[sblock=Arcana DC 20]
The crocodile is known as a Feymire crocodile. A feymire crocodile hails from the untamed marshlands of the Feywild, although they inhabit worldly swamps as well. The crocodile constantly extends roots and tendrils into its surrounding environment to draw nourishment from it. The creature also has regenerative abilities, although the application of fire will stop it for a few seconds, similar to a troll [/sblock]

[sblock=Unlocked stats]
Crocodile - AC is lower than 25, but higher than 21, Will is 20, Fort is higher than 21
Mound - AC is lower than 28, Will is lower than 19
Bugs - Fort is lower than 27, higher than 11, Will is lower than 21 higher than 13
Snake - Fort is lower than 27

[sblock=OOC]
Red Square around crocodile is difficult terrain, even out of the water.

Water squares are difficult terrain, the tree will provide cover, can be climbed with DC 15 athletics. Rocks provide some cover also.

Bugs - bloodied,
Mound - targeted for death
Croc - grabbing Korthauk, used 1 AP, -5 penalty to attack anyone but Kortauhk until the end of his next turn (EoNT).

Initiatives:
Valahad - 22 - resist 5 damage (River), 55/63
Pok - 21 - 29/36 - dazed (save ends)
Feall - 20 - resist 5 damage (River), 29/37
Korthauk - 13 - 52/65 - , resist 5 damage (River), +2 AC/Fort, bloodied
Bad guys - 10
Sheeva - 10 - 32/43 - dazed (save ends) <- you're up
River - 7 - resist 5 damage (River) 33/49, dazed (save ends)

bad guys, feall, River, Val, Korthauk, Sheeva, Pok (1d27=10, 1d20 7=20, 1d20 2=7, 1d20 3=22, 1d20 3=13, 1d20 6=10, 1d20 5=21) [/sblock]

"Pok, what the heck are you doing? When enemies throw area spells, we spread out, we don't get closer together. Get the heck out of here." Sheeva shouts in exasperation.

Being distracted by Pok's movement and subsequent injury, Sheeva misses the Snake with her Lightning before her darkness fades.

[sblock=Actions]
Standard: Lightning Strike on Snake, shift damage to bugs

16 vs. Reflex, 15 damage Snake, 8 damage bugs, 16 on saving throw

I assume Sheeva misses. If not, slide the Snake to L9 / M10.

As a reminder renau1g, any Thunder or Lightning resistance Sheeva's foes have is reduced by 5 to Sheeva's attacks from Storm Soul. Just in case the Snake has some type of resistance.
