I was just looking at chapter 1 of the Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun book. I noticed they printed 50 short 1-2 page adventures for various places, factions, and regions for Dungeon Masters. That seems really helpful. None of the adventures are over level 13. That's not really helpful.
The game goes to level 20. Third-party publishers don't write high level adventures due to the possibility of limited sales, and I can understand their reluctance to risk investing time and resources in a full product for what is admittedly a small audience. Wizards did not need to make most of this product about high level play, but it would have been amazing if 15-20 of these small adventures had been for levels 14-20 since the system assumes that at least some people will play at those levels. This was another missed opportunity to provide some relatively unusual material for more invested players. It would not have used much space in the book, but it would have been well-received by groups that end up playing those levels.
