The thing that impressed me the most is the 'Swap Ritual Caster feat out for this one if you're a wizard/cleric'.

I'm also amused by tanglefoot bags being back. They seem just so silly.

I thought 4e was meant to make the D&D economy at least vaguely plausible?

That's what the level 2, 25 gp version is for

The Level 27 version which has the price tag you quoted is made of ingredients and reagents so potent, it has a shot at locking down Orcus or the Tarrasque.

I don't recall ever seeing "plausible economy" ever being on the list of 4e features. Me, I'd settle for "workable economy" for a game.

Anyway, that's 65k gp for a tanglefoot bag that can affect a god.
