Adventures in Naming!

the first name I pulled out of it, and I do not jest, was:

Ack'sakim AxeAxe.

No bull.

Ack'Sakim AxeAxe.

Better than that... he wasn't a dwarf or a half orc... Ack'Sakim AxeAxe was a halfling servant.

Let me axe him a question (In Jim Carrey Ace V voice)
What an axehole
Maybe he is 2 Axe's high ?
Rockem Sockem AxeAxe is his Monk sister
Maybe he stutters?

Ok, nuff for now.

Slight hijack:

Where can I find good sources of either tons of or random generation of non-english sounding but still real names?

IE

Chinese names
Norwiegan names
South American (any nationality) type names

etc etc?

I can do english-sounding random names in my head just fine. Other stuff, though...

the latest PCGEn has a bunch of random name templates based on RL names *I had the spycraft module loaded at the time

Sorry about the thread hyjack back there...
But that They Fight Crime site is just brilliant. The guy who sent me the link said "This is where my next dozen character concepts are coming from!" I could hear our DM crying from here...

To get a little more on-topic, here's another fun random naming trick.
If you're stuck for an off-the-cuff name for a summoned demon, or some otherworldly force of elemental darkness, grab a bag of junk food, and read some of the ingrediants backwards. Seriously.

Riboflavin --> Nivalfobir
Glycerine --> Enirecylg
Saccharine --> Enirahccas
Gum Arabic --> Cibara Mug
Sucrose --> Esorcus

Of course, there's a risk. If any of your players ever get wise to where the name came from, the creature loses any and all credibility. Still, it's fun.

PS. Surgeon General's Warning: reading the ingrediants of the food and beverages consumed at Game Night can be hazardous to your mental health. Continue at your own risk.

PPS. He's an underprivileged shark-wrestling grifter with no name. She's a brilliant extravagent hooker from a family of eight older brothers. They fight crime!
