From Kamard:
In Middle-Earth, before Sauron restored his fortress at Barad-Dur, he set up a stronghold in the forest of Mirkwood under the guise of the Necromancer. His ringwraiths and orcs were active for the first time in centuries at this time (as an organized force, for the orcs)
Thanks for clarifying that for me. Interesting idea......
It's much harder trying to create intraparty conflict if they all are friends, but if they do have cliques, try to exploit them a bit if you can or dare.
Oh, I nudged a tad, and they're doing the rest:
Rangers & Paladin tug-of-warring over the BarRanger.
Cleric having "meetings" with the Rogue over Paladin
It's getting interesting....
From BenBrown:
Hrm. First I've seen of this thread.
Threads move fast around here. You blink and

it's gone.
I'd encourage the elven ranger to possibly take a few wizard levels. Then again, there will be plenty of spells around in a level or two when the rangers start getting spells.
Spellslinging is not his style. He's a newjack.
From Conaill:
Would any of them feel inclined to change their character, now that they know the makeup of the rest of the party?
That possibility might arise. But then again, I might not let them. I notified the group when each character was posted, and they read the posts and still didn't "see it coming". Some of my comments when the 1st 4 characters were in (Paladin, Rogue, BarRanger, Ranger) were:
"We got the '66 Packers or the '50 Army team here."
"Plenty of beef, no veggies?"
"Where's the bun?"
"When did I say we were playing Robin Hood?"
They then added a Cleric and yet ANOTHER RANGER!! They are not rookies to this (except for one of them and he did his first).
But I could easily imagine that one of the Ranger players was considering making a Mage character in the first place.
Nope, I thought that also. The three of them admitted to "brain freeze".
