Advice for this character please...

Hello,

For those of you who have been piecing my various threads together lately, he is the final result. I am starting a new game as a player. Here are the rules as per the DM:

Gestalt characters - I chose Artificer//Wizard
4 Extra skill points to go towards a STR/DEX/CON skill(s)
4 Extra skill points to go towards a INT/WIS/CHA skill(s)
1 Bonus feat which must be a +2/+2 skill enhancement feat - I chose magic Aptituide
Any WOTC source goes
80 point buy system for stats - all stats are a one-for-one basis and you start at zero in each stat and must have a minimum of 3 in each stat.
Each player gets one mastercraft item - the item, from what I understand, get more powerful as you advancein levels. I couldn't decide, so I bargined with the DM and got Ture Nobility, I'm stinking rich. At first level this equates as favor In House (Eberron) and Noble Born (Dragon Magazine #333) for free plus a few other minor goodies. It isn't all worked out just yet, but I guess I will get more as I go up in levels.

Anyway, the basic stat block should be okay, but feel free to look it over. The skills are unaltered by ability points, just the ranks I took.

Mainly I would like comments on the feat selection. I have some tenative feats listed by level and a few I would like to squeeze in if possible. If I make it to level 20, he should be a 20th level Artificer//5th level Wizard//10th level Incantrix//5th level Arch Mage.

However, I am not sure if it is really worth taking Arch Mage. Arcane Fire is really cool, so is shaping, but if I don't take Arch Mage I can chose 3 different feats, which is also nice. What are your thoughts on this?

Feel free to change the order of when you think I would benifit most from the feat selection.

NOTE:The DM is considering allowing quickened Spells at +2 caster level, so keep that in mind. Also, I think he might drop the Persistent Spell feat a level or two also.

Here is what I got so far:

Unnamed ; Avalonian (basically human, you get the same bonus feat and bonus skills from human, -2 WIS/CON, +2 INT/WIS. They are from his source book, I don't know which one)Art1: CR 1; ECL 1; Size M; HD 1d6+2; hp 8; Init +0; Spd 30 ft; AC 10, touch 10, FF 10; Grapple -1; Atk: -1 melee (1d3 - 1, Unarmed); AL N; SV Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3; Str 8, Dex 10, Con 12, Int 20, Wis 10, Cha 20.
Languages spoken: Avalonian, Celestial, Common, Draconic, Dwarven, Elven, Undercommon

Skills: Knowledge (Dungeoneering) +1, Appraise +4, Concentration +4, Craft (Armorsmith) +1, Craft (Weaponsmith) +1Decipher Script +4, Diplomacy +4, Disable Device +1, Knowledge (Arcana) +4, Knowledge (Architecture) +1, Knowledge (Geography) +1, Knowledge (History) +1, Knowledge (Local) +1, Knowledge (Nature) +1, Knowledge (Nobility) +4, Knowledge (Planes) +1, Knowledge (Religion) +1, Open Lock +1, Search +4, Spellcraft +4, Use Magic Device +4; Should be 40 skill points for class + 8 for DM kindness :).

Feats: Armor Proficiency (Light), Armor Proficiency (Medium), Artisan Bonus, Craft Reserve, Disable Trap, Extraordinary Artisan (human feat), Thanks to the magic of errata you can’t take Extraordinary Artisan twice, so I am thinking of Spellfire(1st level character feat), Item Creation, Magical Aptitude (DM Bonus feat), Scribe Scroll, Shield Proficiency, Simple Weapon Proficiency.

Other Feats: Magical Artisan - Scrolls (replace first level wizard bonus feat)

Wiz Spells Known (4/4): 0--All 1--Charm person, Color Spray, Expeditious Retreat Swift, Feather Fall, Magic missile, Mage Armor, Shield, Sleep + Domain Spell (spell choice might change depending on domain spell)
Domain: Going to be a domain wizard, either fire, cold ant magic or force. The DM might allow any cleric domain as a mage domain, more on that later

Possessions:
Scrolls I make: 2nd level spells - Knock, web, invisibility, scorching Ray x2 (125 gold 5 xp) 1st level spells - Cure Light Wounds x 4 (50 gold 2 xp)

Free starting gear:
Backpack

what about the prereqs for craft construct? (Craft arms & wonderous items? )
while I would say that you need the reduced prices from Eberron feats to make any constructs worthwhile. Try looking into the effgy master PrC in Com Arc if you want to build constructs its gets you there faster and with more variety.

As for quicken, it is powerful at the current level, it would be abusive to take it as soon as possible if it is only +2 levels. Im a big fan of more reactive Charater building, so if you are struggling to overcome threats then go for the quicken advantage.

Why a 20 int and chr? your dex and con might be better investments. Spellfire is just a poor concept, but if you go that route then skip archmage - perhaps pick up a few gesalt levels as fighter for the bonus HP, point blank shot and Percise shot feats.

As an Artificer you get all the item creation feats, so don't have to qualify for craft construct.

I am debating about the ability scores. I for sure want a 20 INT cause it directly effects the wizard spells and has a duel benifit of effecting the artificer infusions. I am debating the 20 CHR. It will help out when I get high enough to cast scrolls with meta-magic feats, but really, that is the only benifit. Granted, you need a high UMD to apply meta-magic feats to scrolls, so that might be worth it.

Although, it might be worth more in DEX or CON too.

I thought spell fire would be cool cause you don't have to take a bunch of counter spell feats, you can counter by absorbing, which is just as good.
