AEG Loses Stargate SG-1!!!

Wait -- this post is replying to a post about a Buffy QAGS supplement, which Eden requested be taken down. Where does it say Eden (or anyone else) asked them to take down the Firefly document?

In short, Eden Games is a terrible company, and no one should buy their products.

Ironically enough I was one of the ones that George made the "taking food from the mouth of my kids" comments about. To be fair he did apologize for his outburst afterwards. From what I have seen I think it is safe to say that he has some anger management issues, but beyond that I can't really comment on the company as a whole.

Does Eden own any of the Firefly rights? I'm curious why they would contact them and ask them to remove it.

Eden contacted Hex Games and requested that they pull down a QAGS conversion of BuffytVS that they had posted on a message board. To further cover their tails they went ahead and pulled the Firefly conversion as well.

FYI I have a copy of QAGS Firefly if anyone is interested in a copy.

I have a copy of the Firefly too, it was pretty good. Knowing that it was the Buffy game that was being contacted about makes perfect sense. If I paid for a liscense I'd also want illegal versions that are competeing with my game to be taken down.

Angel and Buffy are great games. They did a wonderful, respectful job in handling those franchises, and those games have received consistently excellent reviews and support.

If only more companies could be so 'terrible'. :\

I look forward to buying more of their products! :D

If anyone could send me a copy of QAGS Firefly and any other settings they may have taken down to cameron.williams at gmail dot com that would be great.

I don't really have a reaction.

They offered me the book for review but I took one look at the sheer size of it and knew, that much like with Spycraft, that it wasn't my thing. D&D for life man!

Too bad, it's hard to imagine anybody doing a more comprehensive job than AEG did. Clearly the license was a labour of love for the authors, and they packed a huge amount of good stuff into each book.

I can tell you that indeed it was a labor of love, at least for me. All of us authors are very, very saddened to hear this news (though to be fair we heard it about a week ago). Working on those books was an absolute pleasure, and it was a real blow to hear that I wouldn't be working on anymore.

If anyone else gets the license, I hope they choose writers and staff who are as dedicated followers of the show as the writers of the d20 version were. I'm not going to say there weren't any mistakes in the books, but having a team of writers like we had that really "got it" when it came to the show was refreshing.
