Incidentally, Jeff has a website with some cool articles on it.

A bit tangential, but... @Jeff: Whenever I visit the website and go beyond the mainpage, my Avira AntiVir Guard gives me a possible detection of "HTML/Dldr.Agen.QV.7", a HTML-script malware. I can shoot it and can still visit the individual pages, so functionality is not hindered... but I don't think it's a good sign, just to let you know.

EDIT: After some googling, I've found out, that other people had a similar problem with other freeservers.com homepages - so it's probable that freeservers have a real problem with it.

Heh. We had a great working relationship with AEG's jim pinto, and whiel they tried to assign us tables (which we did), most of them came from all the years of DMing and the darndest questions curious players would ask during the game. That's where all the city lists came from. I threw a bunch at jim, he tossed a dozen back, that lead to more, etc.

Also, Dawn had been doing Dragon Magazine article series called "Miscellaneous Mishaps" and literally had a ton of leftover lists ready for future articles we wound up throwing into Toolbox.

The one driving factor was an old in-joke with our group, a night long ago when someone decapitated a wererat, and our DM at the time said "wait, I have a miniature for that!". The idea was if some smart-alec player would ask, "a fourtune teller? I get my foutune read, what's she tell me?" and the DM can say "wait, I've got an answer for that!"

If there is a way to get ahold of jim pinto, I would appreciate it. I want to be sure I get the section 15 right in an upcoming CMG product and there is a question of how best to do so. There were a few of the early AEG books that don't list themself in the section 15, Toolbox being one, Mercenaries being another. Fortunately, Mercenaries is cleared up by Toolbox, which mentions Mercenaries in the section 15 (there are a few other AEG books like that where a later book clears up the absence of a former not being self-referential). I'd like to hope that something on the order of "Toolbox, Copyright 2002, Alderac Entertainment Group." would be acceptable (as there seems to be a standard way of listing AEG books) but I wouldn't want to do that without permission. Unfortunately, the alternative is to not list Toolbox and just copy its section 15, as per the letter of the OGL, and then to use the OGC anyway but it would be a shame to not give a nod to Toolbox when so much hard work obviously went into this early d20 era gem. Thanks for any help you can give in this area.

Wow, I haven't been there myself in ages. I don't update it anymore. But I'm glad you like the archives!

Interestingly enough, I hadn't been to the site in ages. I had to google it to find the link. I just remembered that I really liked some of the material you had posted, and that you helped me with ideas and resources a time or two when I really needed it. I think I even got some cardstock mini templates from you, specific to my needs at the time. If I remember correctly, I asked you for some undead for my revision of the Desert of Desolation. They were a hit.

Also, after thinking about it a bit, I remember using Toolbox for a bunch of session detailing when I first bought it for my friend. I tend to prep very detailed sessions, and it was a wonderful resource for that kind of exercise. I may have to see if I can find me a copy after all...
