They may not have the original working files anymore. After all, they haven't published any d20 material (that I'm aware of) since late 2006.

While you might be right, I find it really hard to believe in this digital age, and the small cost of storage, that a professional publisher doesn't store an archive of EVERYTHING they ever publish.
