The Goodman books (written by Mike Mearls) had great potential but fell flat in execution and delivery. They were plagued with bad editing and layout with whole sections of text coming up missing. The whole series had a rushed feel to it. If care is taken to fix all of the mistakes and make the text more uniform and flow better, it should be a much better book (I hope).
Bastion's Airships is probably the best aerial book to date, especially with the ship construction rules and the versatility it offers. I will admit to liking the aerial combat rules in Fast Foward's Cloud Warriors (which I believe Skip Williams had a hand in crafting that section). I haven't found a book yet that has been able to put it all together in one fantastic blow-me-away package, though...
