Age of Worms... for Iron Kingdom? WT...heck

Karl Green

First Post
So I have been reading and really like the "Age of Worms" adventures path from Dungeon and so I was debating some of the different worlds etc. to use. While talking with some of the guys I game with then and what ‘worlds’ they were most interested in for D&D (or True20/Blue Rose mix; still debating) and the one that EVERYONE seems to want to play in is Iron Kingdoms

Well this presents me with some BIG problems… cause I don’t really know how in the heck I could ‘convert’ the Gods (of the Ebon Triad) over… at all?!??!) if I want to still run that Adventure Path

SOOO I wanted to ping anyone around here (who LOVES Iron Kingdom that is) for some cool ideas on how I could do this. Right now I have two basic ideas that need to be fleshed out. The first would be to use three of the Scions of Thamar that most closely come to the three gods mentioned in Age of Worms (basically of Secrets/Knowledge, of Slaughter and of War) but I am not sure if this would be very stratifying.

Another basic idea is that the ‘cult’ is looking to “ascended into divinity” their three main leaders, much like Marrow and Thamar did. They believe that by combining the “best” (or worst as it were) in these three individuals that they can create an ‘Over-God’, greater then any other. I am not sure where their powers would be coming from (maybe the Devouring Wyrm or something)

Anyway… thoughts? It is worth it you thing, trying to shoe-horn the Age of Worms into the Iron Kingdom or should I just scrap the idea and come up with another campaign/adventure idea?? :)

Thanks

I really want to take part in this discussion--but we're about to start playing Age of Worms, so I promised not to read it. :( I know the premise of the first adventure, from reading the first page or two before I stopped, but that's it.

Still, the concept of darker, older gods, or foreign gods would probably work in Iron Kingdoms, I think. Maybe even have the gods of the Ebon Triad be a set of forgotten Orgoth gods that still have temples laying around forgotten in the dark and lonely places of the world.

Oh don't get me wrong... I don't want to much 'traditional D&D' in my Iron Kingdom and will make the "Age of Worms" darker if I can... and the idea of using some of the Orgoth gods is GREAT... I totally had not thought of that... hmm... very interesting :D
