aging

Hi, I have a question: If a human finds and raises an elf child, how will the kid be aging? I mean, the 110 years for an elf is only when he’s raised among elves, or it doesn’t matter? In AD&D elf’s physically was an adult when he reached the age of 65-75, so it was possible to see a 45-year old elf that looked just like a kid. Does that changed in DnD?

I’m sorry for all mistakes that I could have done. English is not my “automatic language” :D

One of the great inconsistencies, IMO.

If a human family tries to raise an elven child, they'll probably have to do it for many generations! Now who wants that?

Maybe the elven child? Several generations of human parents are better than no parents.

My stupid DM. But, I was wondering, if the elf is physically a kid for almost a century??? I Always thought, that they look like an adult from about 20 to almost their death

In R.A. Salvatore's Dark Elf Trilogy, Drizzt reached physical maturity when he was around 20 years old, about the same as a human. In fact, even in the latest series of novels, Drizzt is only about 70 years old (and it's mentioned that he'd still be considered a child by drow standards).

Because of this, I believe that elves grow to physical maturity at about the same rate as humans. However, they aren't considered a full adult until they're at least a century old.
