Ah! Tarrasque!

Start an order. Recruit people. Start a cult. The purpose of the cult/order whatever is to stop anyone from waking the terrasque.

He asked for it, so let him wake it up. If he wants to destroy his kingdom in the process its his fault or rather the DMs one who isn´t evaluating your chances properly and forces you to do dumb things using such a contrived way to do it.
... All right, but in character, I don't want this thing to kill thousands of innocent commoners. Okay, well "innocent," but still.

Try this. Challenge him to a game. If you win, he and all his decendence must guard Big T for all time to keep him from waking. If he wins, you'll fight Big T, and grant him "broadcast" rights. If he's really into games, he shouldnt turn that down.
... I like that idea. Gotta see what games we might be good at. :uhoh:

Hmm...the 3.5 Intellect Devourer doesn't do Int drain anymore. I guessed they realised that Int-drain was overpowered when used on very dumb creatures. If anyone knows something that still has permanent Int drain, please speak up :).
Ghost.

Here's some ideas:

Don't fight it in melee. It'll eat you!

IIRC, it doesn't have any ability to attack at range (apart from jumping!). Lure it outside, fly, pepper it full of ranged stuff. Time to steal some magical bows, I guess? Perhaps Planar Ally in something(s) who can use a bow? Hope it doesn't burrow. :)
Hm, good idea. I'll look into what things I can summon that can attack from a range. I'm worried that not enough is going to penetrate his DR to make a difference, though. No one in the party specializes with ranged weapons so it might be tough.

Use lots of no SR magic. Hunt through the splat books for amusing stuff. Think Comet from CD might be a good one for the druid?
Due to PrCs, the Druid is more of a fighter than a caster. Only 5th level spells, I think. Drd 10, Warshaper 4, Nature's Warrior 4. CL 12. I think the Wiz and Clr have a good asortment of such spells, though. And Cometfall is a Clr spell too.

Try and lure it away from the mine? Is there a nearby kingdom you don't like?
Technically, this one. Politically, though. I don't want tons of people to die.

Oh, you're right :D. I forgot that they get to pick whatever score they want to drain now. And you'd think the tarrasque has eaten enough people to cause a ghost whose unfinished business is to kill it. If not, just raise one with Create Greater Undead. One or two hits and the tarrasqu is down, and if it doesn't go down, it is now in range for Animal Empathy.

I'd take that leader down. For the greater good - the greater good being a greater chance of success. I mean, you can actually harm him with weapons, he won't regenerate a ton of hit points per round, he doesn't have a megaton of hit points, he has much worse saves, you can kill him without a wish. You could probably even kill him in his sleep.
I'm... not sure how plausible this is. The GM's running a kind of funky game and this dude might be a low level deity. He runs a gladiatorial arena and Gates in lots of powerful creatures to fight challengers. Supposedly, he's Gated in two Tarrasques before.

I want to take the leader down, mind you, but I don't think pursuing that is a good idea yet.

If it's unconscious, it counts as a "willing subject" with respect to teleport, plane shift and the like.

Bring it to Acheron, or Limbo, or somewhere else it won't harm anyone important. Then leave.

Of all the ideas, I like Sarellion's the best. Call the DM's bluff on this one. It would be interesting to see what he does with that. The cult idea is good, too.

That said, if you really have to fight it, fighting it from the inside out is the best way to do it. Get swallowed up (acid resistance helps) and then hack its insides up from the inside out. The armor class is far less on the inside.

Another suggestion I've heard is to go ethereal, walk into his brain, and leave an armload of swords, daggers, and other pointy objects. Drop the etherealness. You'll get shunted, but all the weapons should stay in his brain. Insta-death.
... That's a cool idea. And Energy Resistance (Acid) should cover the being swallowed, right? Easy enough.
