AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

You think wrong.

Small creators did fine for the many, many years which took place before 2023 without having to use plagiarism tools and harm artists. You know how I know? Because I remember it. I’ve been doing this since 1999.

The ones I know didn't. I don't know the entire history of ENWorld publishing, but I have been following you since 2021 and I would not call you a small creator at any time since then.

You’re worried about small creators? What about all the artists I’ve had come to me desperate for work because they can’t pay the bills any more in the last year or so. Why aren’t you concerned about them?

The people publishing those products are not going to hire those artists. They don't produce enough volume to do that. ENWorld using AI art might take a job from a starving artist, but a small time creator won't because they were never going to be able to hire that artist anyway.

The only way banning AI from small time creators helps human artists is by eliminating the content from the people who can't afford to hire them and ceding the market to bigger companies .... which is now happening and is exactly what I said would happen on an AI thread a couple years ago.

Their previous policy required creators to discoles use of AI, now they are banning it going forward.

I said where is the evidence people are being banned for NOT using AI.

Where is your evidence of this? That it is better than AI art, because I sure as heck don't think it is and it certainly is not as original.

I self-published a game 15 years ago and commissioned a load of real art for it from a professional RPG artist (Storn Cook). It wasn't that difficult.

I personally think, having read the policy, it's not strong enough a ban. I want LLM coding (aka "vibe coding") banned, too, but Foundry hasn't gone that far yet.

That was, but I think you missed my point. I asked for evidence for people who aren't using AI being banned. Since there are none, there's your answer! Don't use AI in your work, and you won't get banned. And because I'm a helpful person, I gave alternative solutions to AI that are not only cheap, but of quality just as high as big publishers. I even gave a link to one such example, although Dean certainly isn't the only high quality artist that sells stock art.
