Aimed spells fired at target in melee

Question recently came up regarding spells that require a ranged touch attack to hit. If you fire such a spell at a target that's involved in melee, don't you get the -4 to hit as normal?

yes, a ranged touch into combat gets all penalties you accuire from firing into combat

Yes. However, since they're usually Touch spells (unless it's something weird like Ice Knife), they'll still generally be pretty good at hitting foes at higher levels. (For example, when fighting a dragon with a 10 touch AC, a -4 isn't going to matter to a 10th-level caster.)
