Albany Gameday VIII - Sept. 22

Pilot, Drops the his "gunners" off before flying the maintanence sled at the alien... ramming speed.
Actress: "That was a rough ride."
Femail Merc: "His other ride isn't any better."

Just because I was particularly proud of this one, I believe my female merc said: "This is a better ride than he was."

I never play the mean people, so I had a lot of fun being the nasty one.

My best moment nobody noticed.

I was trying to open the weapons locker that had the EMP grenades
DM asked if I was revealing my secret, or trying to be "sneaky";
Me "I'm being sneaky."
DM: roll a d20

I rolled a 19

DM to the rest of the group "Everybody give me a spot check."
not only did the characters fail their spot checks, I don't think the players realized they were making them against me.

That moment was very cool. You played your background perfectly and I think it added tons to the game. Without anyone really knowing it! Seonaid mentioned to me on the ride home, "Ya know, I thought it was odd that the engineer was giving out orders." Didn't dawn on her until the post game reveals what was going on.

Considering she figured out the big bad before it happened, that's some impressive roleplaying.

I *so* wish I heard that line as it was delivered! So many great lines and moments were flying around that it was hard to keep track. You did a very good job with a character that could have been hard to have fun with.

Yttrai's thoughts on the best Albany Gameday i've EVER been to


A) scholar is a great DM. scholar is a not a good planner. scholar can apparently still pull a pretty damn good game out of his posterior. I would play his Real World of Darkness game again and again. Well, i would have except that i killed off every other character. More than once. Everclear fireball for the win!

B) Guedo is a sick, sick man. Paper hats suck, that "unicorn horn" we had to use as a prop was disturbing, Hello Kitty is not someone's imaginary undead friend, the addition of gnomes does not make a game automatically funny, and if you are going to hand out Naughty Points, do you really expect your players to not get....well.....naughty?



I would attend Albany Gameday again and again. Those of you who can make it to any of Albanys, Bostons, New Hampshires, or Providence Gameday and don't deserve a swift kick to the rear for not leaping upon the chance to play with these people.

The locals i met were all wonderful, and extra thanks to the out of town folks for making the trip. It was like Gencon with a lot less booze

Can hardly WAIT for the first weekend in November!

Human (to Scholar): "Is there anything to stand on?"

Scholar: "Well, there's a geek."

There were other funny quotes, but I forgot them... someone at the table was writing them down, though.

Ah, yes, that was me. The quote sheet is at home and i, sadly, am at work! Tonight, i promise, quotes shall be shared.

Um, most of them will be at CM. Only one or two of them are grandparental ear-worthy.

Thanks for coming everyone. I had a blast. It was the best attended and smoothest running Albany Gameday yet. I mean, we turned away walk ins. We almost never do that.

The magic tournament was great. I learned a lot and it was run even thought I went 1 for 6.

The pony game was fun even though the people I wanted to play dropped out and the remaining ponies were the worst behaved yet. Of course, this is to be expected with Scholar in a gaming group. At least, Peerwon wasn't corrupted and was a perfectly mannered thieving pony.

Lastly, I want to thank all of the out of towners who drove far too long to come play. We appreciate you guys.

Ha ha, yeah. I was surprised how long I lasted, given that I was the geek... Of course, I was a geek with a SWORD, and pyrotechnical magic, so......
