Alien Apocalypse - Anyone else planning on watching ole Ash?

It sucked me in, it was so bad. It wasn't even funny bad. My roommate loves funny bad movies. Hell, we laughed at Manos - The Hands of Fate. We can watch Mosquito 2 and get a kick out of the campiness. But this movie wasn't funny. Not at all. Bruce Campbell wasn't a wise ass. He was playing it serious.

Or at least as serious as a man who wants to kill himself for taking the role can play.

John Crichton, I know you think I hate all movies that aren't perfect, but I'm actually rather forgiving. If you say Episode II was a good movie, I'll say you're incorrect, because it wasn't good; it was merely okay and was woefully disappointing compared to what it could have been.

But this movie had me twitching on the ground, sputtering for words to ask how someone could have made it. I'm going to have to catch the encore just so I can see the writer and tell my friends the man is a blight.

I watched Alien Apocalypse and enjoyed it for what it was: tongue-in-cheek sci-fi adventure. I agree that Renee O'Connor needed more air time. I watched every episode of The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. and loved Bruce Campbell.

Too bad the next "original" movie is King Snake on April 9.

Its not on yet in my time zone, but I doubt anyone is actually expecting good. It is a scifi channel movie after all.
Not all SciFi channel movies are bad. I thought that Chupucabra was done quite well. It isn't on yet here in AZ, I still have 40 minute to go.

Okay, I'm sorry. This is going to get me in trouble, probably, but . . . how the hell did you like that movie?! It wasn't funny! To be tongue-in-cheek, you make fun of something. This didn't! It tried, maybe, but it wasn't funny! It was just awkward, and Bruce Campbell looked sad that he was in it!

How can people like it?! HOWWWW!?! People liking it causes Sci-fi to keep making crap like this!

I've got to rant. I know what entertainingly bad is. This was not it.

I have to agree that the movie tried to take itself too seriously...

And no, Sci-Fi isn't a complete screw up. They've done Dune, Children of Dune, and Battlestar Galactica. When they're good, they're great...and usually, when they're bad, they're at least worth a laugh. But this was just...nothing. I really hoped it would get better, and probably would have changed the channel if I didn't like watching the aliens.

I love Bruce Campbell flicks but man this latest was just bad writing and some pretty poor acting on most of the supporting cast. Bummer. Sombody mentioned earlier The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. Fantastic show! The writing and the plots were hilarious. Who can ever forget that outlaw gang called "The Swine Brothers."

When it comes to Bruce Campbell he had me at "Give me some sugar baby." I enjoyed the movie. I wasn't expecting anything from it and I wasn't disapointed. He will always be "The Great Exterminator". I don't think it was taking its self seriously though. I mean come on, making him an osteopath instead of a real doctor, that made for some of the best moments in the movie. It did look like it was filmed on a $1.98 budget, though.

I'll be the first to eat my words. That its beyond words how sucky that was. The final battle scene was just completely uninspiring. I mean come on, they were running through hacking off alien body parts, and there were no defiant screams, no battle cries, just silence! What a horrible movie. There were some bits of dialogue that were so stupid it made me laugh, but I think the only parts that were really enjoyable were where the bugs ate the human's heads.

I want the last two hours of my life back.

Just got done watching it and I gotta admit, it is not that bad. I actually got a good chuckle out of it at least once for every half hour. This is one movie I wouldn't mind having on DVD when it becomes available for purchase.
