Alien Apocalypse - Anyone else planning on watching ole Ash?

Just got done watching it and I gotta admit, it is not that bad. I actually got a good chuckle out of it at least once for every half hour. This is one movie I wouldn't mind having on DVD when it becomes available for purchase.

You are joking, right? I mean this thing makes Plan 9 from Outer Space look like a masterpiece. How did they even get Bruce Campbell onboard with this movie anyway?

John Crichton, I know you think I hate all movies that aren't perfect,
Yeah, but that's why I love ya. ;)

but I'm actually rather forgiving.
Oh, oops. Have at you!

If you say Episode II was a good movie, I'll say you're incorrect, because it wasn't good; it was merely okay and was woefully disappointing compared to what it could have been.
Let's not bring that up again. Remember what happened last time with the chickens and tartar sauce?

But this movie had me twitching on the ground, sputtering for words to ask how someone could have made it. I'm going to have to catch the encore just so I can see the writer and tell my friends the man is a blight.
First off, send pictures. Second, I really am considering not watching this at all. I have a small pile of DVDs (such as Heat: SE and The Last Samurai) sitting unwatched and unopened that I could view instead...

This thread is making me consider deleting it off the TiVo...

Matter of fact, I'll put it to a vote. Any takers?

It's on my Tivo as well. I'm going to watch it. I may hate it or I may love it. I'll never know until I watch. :)

You have to watch it, otherwise you won't know what we are talking about

I've watched a little over half of it and I like it. :) It's a cheesy movie but Bruce Campbell does a good job. I agree with the IMDB reviewer.

B movie... B is for - Bad supporting cast, Bad wigs, Big plot holes, but mostly for Bruce! This movie was an excuse to let Bruce Campbell be well, Bruce Campbell, and it's the only real reason to watch it. He's a much more versatile actor then most people know, because he's known mostly for roles and characters like this, and his fans love it. Any way the people making this know that they aren't making Citizen Kane, or even Independce day, and thats what makes it somewhat endearing. They have no delusions about the movie they are making and have some fun with it. I really wish the supporting cast (with a few exceptions) were better, and the fake beards and wigs were a distraction, but thanks to Bruce it was at least entertaining. It was also nice seeing him and Renee O'Connor on screen together again.

Oh, and for those of you who think Bruce was in a role that he was obligated to be in and didn't really want to, here's some trivia from IMDB.

Lucy Lawless was originally offered Renée O'Connor's role but turned it down.

One of two movies pitched to the Sci-Fi Channel by Josh Becker and Bruce Campbell. The other was "The Man With the Screaming Brain".

I missed the first half hour thanks to watching the Clone Wars on Cartoon Network, but I saw the rest. Wow. Bruce rocked. But from the rest of the cast I've seen better acting from porn stars.

I love Bruce Campbell flicks but man this latest was just bad writing and some pretty poor acting on most of the supporting cast. Bummer. Sombody mentioned earlier The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. Fantastic show! The writing and the plots were hilarious. Who can ever forget that outlaw gang called "The Swine Brothers."

This was one of the great shows that fox screwed up and cancelled in it's long line of doing so. Man, I loved the opening episode with Pistol Pete having the rock painted to look like the railroad continued on so he could stop the train. Nice homage to the old cartoons and funny as hell to think about. Lord Bowler was funny too. And Comet......damn was that a smart horse, plus the show seemed to have hot chicks just flowing out of the woodwork. I need to go find out if this show is available on dvd or when it will be.
