So one thing we've been wondering is that if these synthetics are superpowered beings who can defeat a xenomorph in one-on-one combat, why didn't Bishop help out a bit more? Also, I guess, see David and Walter, both also superpowered.
My current theory is these are expensive synthetics, and Ash and Bishop, although they come later, are cheap mass-produced synthetics. Though that doesn't explain David and Walter, who came years before.
(I'm operating here in the assumption that main difference between a synthetic and a hybrid is simply that one has a human consciousness transferred into it, and the other does not--the physical capabilities of the hybrids and David/Walter are pretty similar).
I assume Kirsh has David/Walter capabilities rather than Ash/Bishop.
