Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

Saw this map on Polygon. Asia and Africa deserve better than Boy Kavalier and suggest that Prodigy isn't the runt of the litter megacorp in the way the Maginot crew viewed it as. Also, poor Greenland can't catch a break in 2025.

My suspicion is that season 2 will start when the W-Y forces land - to find everyone either dead or gone. We will get a flashback later for what happened in the missing hour.

That would make for a pretty cool head scratching intro to Season 2, Episode 1, but I'm with Whizbang, I don't think there's enough time given the present state of the principles. NOW, had the finale ended with the Lost Boys watching WY approaching the island while Morrow sneers and prophesizes everyone's doom, then BK gets that creepy smile on his face and says he has a way to make them all disappear and cut to black.

I kinda feel that the dystopian corporate future wouldn't be about physical territory like countries are, but demographics which override geography. It'll be about global marketing, propaganda, and influence, and the various demographics won't conveniently live in continent-size blocks next to each other. Apple v Android, Marvel v DC, Daily Mail v The Guardian, but more dystopian. You are signed up to Weyland-Yutani's services, but your parents use Prodigy.

Yeah, this feels very Age of Colonialization, with different groups carving up the world. My understanding is that this version of Earth's map (with vaguer details) was worked out as far back as William Gibson's Alien III script, so having an outdated view of the world isn't a surprise to me.

It's not that it's an outdated view of the world--it's that the concept of corporate territory in 200 years will not be geography-based. Each corp will have varying levels of influence everywhere. The physical map simply won't be relevant.
