Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

Maybe this one incubated in the cat?
I did wonder about that!

It's very catlike, like the way it dashed after the people at the party, that's exactly the way a domestic cat dashes after fleeing prey, and my brain read it as "a cat" for a half-second. And it's sleek like a cat and way faster and more agile than any Xenomorph I've seen before.

The only counter-evidence would be it doesn't have digitigrade rear legs, and the cow and dog-based Xenomorphs in Alien3 both had digitigrade rear legs. But that's weak evidence, because Xenomorphs vary from movie-to-movie, and we don't know if Alien3 is "canon" here (esp. as it happens in the future, with potentially a different "base strain" of Xenomorph, we have no clue where these eggs came from, maybe not LV426).

So we know that Weyland-Yutani knows about the xenomorph species because David sent them a report after the events of Alien: Covenant, but we still don't know how WY learned about the crashed alien spaceship on LV426, right? That's still a mystery?
I thought that, but according to this, Weyland (the person) and David were aware of LV-426, which is a different moon of the same gas giant as the one in Prometheus, and were aware because of a "faint signal".

Unfortunately the actual source is gone and the Wayback Machine link to the page doesn't support the claim. Nor does watching "Quiet Eye", a promo video for Prometheus which is supposedly related. So I am skeptical.

Hmm. Odd. I suppose Weyland and David could've been aware of the moon and the signal from the derelict without knowing exactly what was there. Thus Ash and the Nostromo are sent to find out what is causing the signal but there is no foreknowledge that it's an Engineer ship containing xenomorph eggs.

Honestly, I don't think it was thought out that much.

Also the series has film-makers who deny the existence of films not made by them as canon, so as a whole the entire franchise should be viewed through an 'unreliable narrator' lens, given that different directors literally view the canon differently. According to Ridley Scott, there is no Alien Queen creature type, and I think we can all agree that that is 10000000000000% canon.
