All That Glitters... - your experiences?

Quasqueton

First Post
Thirty-third thread of a series on the old classic Dungeons & Dragons adventure modules. It is interesting to see how everyone's experiences compared and differed.

Did you Play or DM this adventure (or both, as some did)? What were your experiences? Did you complete it? What were the highlights for your group?

Wow, did we hit on an unused adventure module, here? I'm amazed. Though I've never run it or played in it, I have read it. And it is one of the most interesting and probably fun adventures I've seen. Especially considering what the "holy artifact" is in the end. Cleverly simple, I thought.

I've DMed that.

Back in collage I DMed All that Glitters. It is one of my favorite modules (right behind the original Ravenloft). My fondest memory is when the group fought the fire giant with his Hell Hound pets. When the giant was finally killed I asked where everyone was. The thief was right behind the collapsing giant. After a failed save, the giant landed right on top of the poor thief. The rest of the party tried to cut him out but it was no use. Too bad thieves don't hold up well to being squished. ;)

It's in my collection, but I never got a chance to use it... it is a nifty little adventure though...

I'm a big fan of the "Subway"...

(Might be time to place Port Elizabeth somewhere in my campaign world...)

Haven't played it myself (though I've done most of the other UK series), but I agree that the "subway" is awesome.

i ran part of this one. as an intro to Pharoah.

i too thought it was a good use of items and story. very well done.
