Alter self + fuse arms = easy strength

I am a 3rd lvl sorcerer and a 3rd lvl cleric, and i do not have enough spells yet to really help my party. (i plan on taking mystical thurge for my next lvl but i still wont have a ridiculous amount of spells) So i was wondering if i could use the alter self spell to give me extra arms, after which i could use the fuse arms spell to increase my strength score, so i wont be defenseless after i run out of spells. Since i will only have 2nd cleric spells and second sorc. spells.

Next level should be sor4, otherwise you don't qualify for MT yet.

Fuse arms is from which book? Didn't find it in the Spell Comp.

Well, Alter Self only allows you to change to a creature of 5HD or less that is of your type. Is your character a humanoid? I'm not aware of any humanoids with extra arms.

Fuse Arms, Spell Compendium pg. 100

You could presumably combine Fuse Arms with Girallon's Blessing (Cleric 3, Druid 3, Sor/Wiz 3, Spell Compendium pg. 106). Since the latter provides the extra arms necessary for the former and both spells last 10 minutes/level.

Thanks, found it now.

I don't like this sentence in the Alter Self description about "A body with extra limbs...". To me that would exclude this combination. YMMV.

Both come from Savage Species. When SS came out and a player wanted to use this combo I ruled: 1. Fuse Arms counters and dispels Girallon's Blessing, and 2. Come on, seriously, dude?

Hehehe... yeah, I mean, it blew me away that such a blatantly overpowered combo consisted of two spells printed on the same page! Who edited that book anyway?

Note: I said presumably :D

Personally, Girallon's Blessings + Fuse Arms is too munchinky for my tastes.
