Er, has anyone else taken advantage of this offer besides myself? I bought some more games (but for friends for xmas) with the deal, I just hope things don't go wrong though.

I really dont think its a deal. It makes no sense that at one moment its 10 and the other its 50.

I'm almost certain a hacker is having his fun with amazon.com.

I just hope that if they decide to "correct" any errored purchases they give you the option of cancelling your order instead of paying the normal cost.

They'll either honor it, or cancel the order outright. I can't think of a single case that an order has been charged the 'correct' price when something like this happened, at least from Amazon.

I'm almost positive that they can't charge you the normal price. You only authorized them to charge $9.99 to your credit card, so they can't just decide to charge you $49.99 instead.

But IANAL (yet).

I'll give this one more bump before putting it where it needs to go.

But if it is a hacker, I wouldn't wait breathlessly for them to honor it...

Even if it is a hacker, I wouldn't be surprised if they honored the sales anyway. They could potentially lose a lot of business if news got out that hackers had broken into their system, rendering credit card and personal ID information potentially unsecure. I suppose their decision would rest on how many units they sold and how much under cost $9.99 is.

I don't think this was a hacker. I just browsed, and they have something called "Friday Sales," which are limited-time specials. So perhaps they meant to do this?

We'll have to check again next Friday.
