Amazon delays again (aka "No PHB2 for Russ")

Hi, all--

WotC has nothing to do with sales of D&D to Amazon UK, so this isn't the place to accuse them of yet another conspiracy (or even to call them stupid). Amazon, like every other UK retailer, is serviced by Esdevium Games, who distribute D&D in the UK. You can direct your gripes at us.

And yes, I agree that providing online retailers with RPG books shouldn't be rocket science. Shouldn't. Unfortunately, Amazon in particular uses bots to place its orders, and in fact sellers generally can't even talk to a human being about them. At the current point in 4E's life-cycle, the bots are having a very hard time understanding how much product to order. (And, frankly, so is everyone else--which is why, for example, PHB2 sold out almost immediately all over the world.) We do our best to mitigate the bots' crazy orders (high or low), but that doesn't always do the trick.

If you're having trouble with online sources, your best bet will almost always be your FLGS. If you don't think there's one near you, check out FindYourGameStore - Find It, Play It.

Sorry for the inconvenience; things should get better over time.

It's not always a matter of bots or not. My FLGS still haven't received their Arcane Power (and E1 I assume) shipment :(

Jack is a sad panda. There is not even a PDF to download.

With all this reports, I must say that I'm very impressed by how the company that has the Italian D&D license is handling things here. The translations appear with a 1-2 months delay and the English version are available on the day of the US release or close. I was able to buy Arcane Power at my friend's store on the 22nd.

The Rouse, if you are listening: I want someone like this Italian dudes* handling the D&D license in Germany. Not someone like Amigo. Even if they sound Italian. :p

I must admit that all my DnD shipping (bar one) from Amazon has been on time, if not ahead of estimated dispatch/delivery.

Arcane power should be here tomorrow or wednesday...

The only one that's been postponed was Eberron Player's Guide. Still no news on it yet tho.

My PHB2 is taking more than usual to arrive. Amazon says it has shipped on March 16 and my delivery estimate was April 20...
