Amazon Delays on 4e

I pre-ordered the 4th Edition gift set from Amazon back in February. Now my order is delayed until August 4th. Anybody else suffering through this? Is there anyone else selling the full set for around $60? I'm not really in the mood to give Amazon any of my money right now, but I'll wait to save $30.

It's always a risk when pre-ordering though Amazon.

Sometimes you get lucky, and sometimes there's a price to pay for the, er, price.

I cancelled my order. But then, I was only going to get it for the inner completionist in me anyways, so I don't view not getting them as any great loss.

That last part won't help you, but this might: for only a few $$ more, you can get the books individually from Amazon and they should ship right away. Of course, you don't get the nifty gift case thingy.

I preordered my boxed set in May 2008 and got them from Amazon. They told me not to expect them until July 7th, but I got them June 8th, so you might have hope yet.

I preordered my Box Set in April 30 and got the infamous "delay" message on June 10... I had resigned myself to getting it in august, but then I received it this past saturday.

Weird thing: the shippment box said the country of origin was Germany (WTF!!??? I live in Mexico City!)

I didn't order any of them at first; I got the PHB at Books-A-Million because I'm impatient ;)
Just ordered the DMG and MM from Amazon, though. Shipped today (2hours after order, I think) and they'll be here by Tuesday (1st) at the latest.

I guess they are just running into supply problems with the box sets... too bad––it's a nice box!

I went out and bought a PHB from the bookstore across the street when many people had received notices about Amazon gift set delays, but I hadn't yet.

I ended up canceling my gift set order and ordering the individual books (which showed up on Tuesday), and some grumbling netted me $10 of Amazon credit (since I by a huge amount of stuff from Amazon, that's worth as much as cash to me), which -- after the DMG and MM were cut to the same price as the PH -- meant that I essentially got the same price for the books as I would have for the gift set.

I would have just picked up a DMG and MM from Amazon (since I had the PHB at that point), but I'd already promised the 'extra' PHB to the guy who hosts our tabletop game.
