Amazon Distribution "Issues" in the UK

Beonin

First Post
I hasitly apologise that my first post on this wonderful forum has to be a moan. I had hoped to post how happy I was after recieving my copy of Keep over shadowfell and that I would be running the adventure with my local group in the coming weeks. Sadly my experiecnce has been soured somewhat!

I have, like many of you had both KotS and the core books preordered with Amazon for some time. I was mildly upset that today I recieved notification from Amazon that my order was delayed. I was then upset further when i checked the shipping details and the only further information I could gleen was that Amazon would contact me when THEY knew more.

Hence I penned a quick e-mail to Amazon just to enquire what was going on and how long i would be waiting for my copy.

This frustration and annoyance turned to outfight Red Dragon Rage when i was told by Amazon that the product was now on back order and they were hoping to get me a copy by June 20th!! WTF!!

I have subsequently cancelled my order, thus we come to the meaning of this thread.

1. Has anyone else in the UK suffered the same Issues &

2. Does anyone know of any other distributors in the UK where I can get a copy. Historically this would not have been a problem by my local RPG store closed in February!

If anyone can help, you will have the eternal thanks and servitude of someone desperate to get there hands on the H1 Module.

Where in the UK?

My FLGS should have it in for me tomorrow, and my place of work Waterstones (a bookshop for the none Brits) should have it in as well. PM me and I'll send you my store phone number and I'll see if I can post you a copy. Sadly no discount and a postage charge. You could try Waterstones.com as well. For excellent RPG specialised mail order try a google search for Interstellar Master Traders, **** site - great stock.

Hope these help.

This doesn't help you, but this kind of thing is exactly the reason I stopped using Amazon for *anything*, years ago. I got sick and tired of stupid, inexplicable delays and outright lies on their web site about shipping dates. Now I order from a game store in London; I pay close to cover price, but I know I'm going to get it.

Hm, just spoke to a game store in the UK and apparently the entire UK delivery was delayed and arrives tomorrow.. Wondering if Amazon will then just send them out tomorrow..

I live in hope.. :S

Thanks for the information. I too have had my order "delayed" by Amazon. I was not really that bothered as I thought that it would just be a day or two. However if it likely to be June 20th then l am off to cancel my order. Cheers.

My FLGS promises me they'll have it tomorrow, but I'm dubious as when I spoke to the owner he said he was about to phone Esdevium to check it was OK.

Suspect there might be a bit more of a wait than anticipated...!

Heck, I could earn enough money to fly to the US and buy a copy by 20th June, and I don't even have a job right now! Don't ask me how..

Interstellar Master Traders run by Pete Pinto (not sure on spelling there) who was the inspiration for the Librarian from the discworld novels if i'm not mistaken, also a friend of the great man, neat little shop if a tad crowded :)

I've had the same experiences with Amazon here in the US. With gaming products, they often seem to have a problem with securing enough product to fill preorders, or take a few days or weeks to actually receive the product once it has been released. I only order things from Amazon that say they are in stock. Even then they might not actually have it, but at least that way you know pretty fast.

CRap... I got the same from amazon, I'm in ireland.

My local place says they should have copies in around Thursday, but they usually charge an extra €10.

I need it for my game on Sunday, still I alway have my backup..........
