Amazon out of Gift Set!

WTH? This happened tosomeone I know. Many people who had ordered since Feb never got their Gift set; amazon now says they will have it in stock on June 16!!

Seriously, i know supply chain can be a bitch, but this is just encouraging those who preordered to go and download the pdfs.

You really think that Amazon has an stash that never ends? Wizards already said they went to the printer for an second stash because of the first was to small..

I dont know the Amazon price, but i paid 150 usd for the 3 normal books, that is 96 euro here..

But it blows because it's not like we just ordered, we pre-ordered quite a ways back.

Still, I'm paying just $75 U.S. for the gift set and a PHB for my son..... just have to wait a little while.

I am in the same boat, I ordered a gift set in Feb and I was showing me getting it on the 10th with 2 day amazon prime shipping. Well just got the mail today that it had not shipped and I am now looking at 11th to the 16th for delivery. I understand that they run out but how does someone who ordered in FeB not get one? They only had 5 months to place the orders.

It appears that Amazon is not doing "First in, First out" shipping at all. That is rather vexing.

Yeah i know it sucks.. most online shops dont use an list with people who pre order early get early.. luckily my local game shop did that for me and i could pick up 6 PHB's, 1 MM and 1 DMG on the day they could sell it.. (oh and i live in Holland)

I preordered the box set in February and will be waiting for them to get more stock. It'll then take at least two weeks to send them over to New Zealand (It's snowing this morning by the way).

However, I ordered two extra players handbooks a few days ago for a couple of my friends and they have been shipped already. What the?!

Aaargh. I'm going mad. We finished our 3.5 campaign a month ago, but we don't want to start a new one until 4E is here and we can roll up new characters.

We've done some mucking about with the pre-gens, but it's not the same as with a character you have built.

The boys are coming round on Wednesday and we are going to try out some 1st edition Warhammer until we get what we really want.

(No I won't do it, I have gotten a... preview of the books and I really like them, but it is something I will remember the next time I am contemplating buying the actual books. You don't want unsatisfied customers in a business like this...)

I canceled my order. Then I went out to buy a set but my main comic shop was sold out. I made it to the games shop in the local old town and found 4 people loitering over the last few copies they had. I had to take the books out of their hands (politely, "You guys buying them?") in order to purchase them but at least I got them. Paid full price to.
