Amazon Shipping

If anyone who has ordered from Amazon has gotten their book shipped, can you post here. Today is the day they estimated for a ship date and if I'm hosed I'd like to know so that I can try to track down a copy locally.

I wrote this in another Amazon thread, but I am going to repeat myself...

I have had disaster after disaster with pre-ordering gamebooks from Amazon. I did that for Qualidar two years ago, and they kept putting off and putting off the shipment date. Other stores had had their copy weeks when I found out that Amazon couldn't get the copies, and refunded my preorder money. I will never do it again.

Have they pushed back the shipping yet? If so... get to a FLGS and get a copy before they are gone.

As far as I know, mine hasn't shipped yet. Amazon still list a Aug 19 release date, but it still says not yet released. They are either about to push back the ship date, or they haven't gotten around to updating the listing.

My friend emailed me Monday to say that as a thank you for running Age of Worms for the group, and that he picked up the PFRPG Corebook for me at GenCon. So I promptly cancelled my order with Amazon. I was planning to cancel anyhow, they were estimating ship date of 9/8 for my copy and the FLGS had two copies left.

I used to routinely get gamebooks from Amazon on or before street release.

Then something changed, and Amazon started waiting for two weeks after street date for a lot of game books. I suspect that brick-and-mortar stores complained loudly to the publishers, but I dunno.

Anyway, it's usually not a big deal for me to wait, especially given the savings Amazon provides. In this case, though, I would rather pay a higher price and give my money direct to Paizo. (And that's saying something. I'm not cheap, but I am frugal.)

I already gave my money directly to Paizo for the PDF... but Amazon's international shipping rates are so much better than Paizo's that it was a no-brainer: less than $10 for the shipping, as opposed to $42 (!!!).
