Are their any demi-human COM/ARI/EXP/ETC... in your personal games?

Yep. They are pretty common in my homebrew. It's a very cosmopolitan setting. There is an elven and dwarven homeland, but only because player's often write backstories that include that sort of thing. More typically, the races are scattered throughout the lands. I don't even have a separate pantheon for each race, everyone worships the same gods.

The main reason we didn't include them in the book was for time reasons. It would take months to generate 4 stat blocks and flavor write ups for six additional races (1920 stat blocks). Assuming we could ever stay motivated to finish, and be sane if we did. ;)

Luckily our general rule applied here, more or less. Humans have the fewest racial adjustments (arguably half-orcs have fewer, but who would buy a book of half-orc NPCs) so there is less work to removing human adjustments then adding those of another race than starting with elves or dwarves for some of the stat blocks.

We actually bandied around the idea of including additional races for some of the entries (Dwarven crafter, Elven hunter, etc.) but the extra work combined with the frustration of having users look for an elven crafter and only finding those darn Dwarves. Or worse, looking for a Wood Elf and only finding a High Elf. We knew that we couldn't please everyone, so we figured that we would do it in a way that would inconvenience everyone the least.

If anyone wants to pay me to do a book for each race I'll consider the offer. But to be honest I'm really sick of NPCs right now.

Heh - LOL! I can imagine. I was just bustin' your chops a bit, but I appreciate the detailed response.

Obviously I have the product, and I'm not afraid to tell everyone that I am really pleased with it. ( my 4th .pdf purchase ! ) I'm sure it will get used LOTS over my the length of my 3E experience...

No problem. I like answering questions. I'm glad you are finding the book useful.

Librum ex Veritas and the Kid's Coloring Book shortly before December. Kid's Coloring Book has a final date locked down for Nov 28th...

Any word on when the individuals whose submissions were selected for the KCB will be notified? My 13-year old is driving me batty asking, "Have you heard anything yet, Papa?" everyday as soon as he gets in from school.

::chuckle::

Not that I am complaining - he could just not talk to me at all, I guess. :P

Anywho, any info would be MOST appreciated! Thanks! :)

Own a copy of the Librum Ceteri. Good work, Ambient! Also, congrats on the good ratings and the upcoming HoundCon - a pity I won't be able to attend this year ;)

Anyway, I think your title is a bit misleading. It really doesn't cover *EVERYONE* else ;) I mean, what about the water boy? Or the royal commode washer? Or that one guy with the lazy eye who greets people at the city gate, muttering something about Cthulhu? Perhaps the book should be titled "MOST Everyone Else"* :)

*Note to the humour-challenged - the previous paragraph was in jest.

Keep up the good work, Jason & crew!

What would you like to know? I suppose I can't be much help with "How do you like it?" sort of questions, but I'm keeping an eye on this thread for any questions I might be able to answer.

Cheers.

sorry for not speaking up earlier

All of the submissions I received thus far will be included.
We've got some GREAT stuff from big names as well as some super entries from kids- it's going to be gorgeous. We're still on schedule for the Kids Colouring Book, so will release either the 28th or 29th of November.
