Ambient's Everyone Else Opinions?

I took a look at the preview of this product and I have to say I was intrigued

I think having all those "Joe Genero" NPC's woud be a boon in my humano centric game

I especially liked the preview bit being 1,3,5 levels as they are the apprentice, journeyman, master types most common in my campaign

I would like to know though a couple of things though.

Has anyone used it in their games

Was it usefull?

Thanks

Haven't used it yet (on hiatus due to workload @ school) but I look forward to having generic people statted out for those unexpected occasions where it would be good to know what the bartering ability of that shopkeep is, or how susceptible to intimidation the lord's secretary is.

I think it's a good product.

Ambient? Bah I predict they close their doors soon.

Joking.

I think Ambient puts out quality stuff. You shoul check out the reviews section of this site and you could get more of a feel for what other people think of their products.

We also threw in level 7 as well, in case your campaign had a different standard of "mastery". We figured that any NPC higher than 7th level would have a unique or campaign specific backstory and the generic treatment wouldn't be very useful, so we quit while we were ahead.

Anyhoo, I will leave comments and criticisms to others who have road tested it.

Cheers

I haven't actually used anything from it yet, but I keep a copy on hand during the game session, as well as during game-prep. Having perused the product with some scrutiny, I expect to get a great deal of use out of it... as soon as the party gets back to civilization.

To elaborate... I really enjoy products like this. WotC's Enemies and Allies was also a great time-saver when it hit the shelf. Additionally, I keep City Guide I and Penumbra's Backdrops on hand, and products like Necromancer Games' Book of Taverns. Not only do they help to expediate game prep, but I've always enjoyed intertwining other people's ideas with my own... it invariably produces results I never would have come up with, and keeps me from getting predictable.

I'm also thinking about picking up the 1000 Faces products. Are there any 'plug-in' products I haven't noticed yet that anyone else would recommend?

I have Everyone Else and 1,000 Faces, and I get a decent amount of use out of both of them. I advocate both products.

If I remember to use them, that is. I had one of the PCs at a boatwright last session bartering over prices, and I just adjudicated it out of my head because I forgot. Oh well.

Hmm, reminds me to check and see when the second part of 1000 Faces will be released.

I have Everyone Else and it's very useful. Not only are the stat blocks good but the descriptions of all the different types of people is also very useful.
