All of this assumes that each cat is equal. Indeed, most mogs are.

But any long-term cat owner knows that the neighbourhood alpha-tom has at least one level in barbarian, and a cranky tortoiseshell is a match for any worg or riding dog.
 

Have you ever heard that urban legend, that 10 cats close to each other create enough static electricity to start a car? How many cats do you think it needs to create a lightning bolt?
 

Allowing equipment, just one:

Since a cat always lands on his feet, and a loaf of bread with butter always fall on the side with butter, a cat with a buttered load of bread glued to his back would be the ultimate doomsday machine: the strain on the fabric of the universe it he falls would be too great, destroying the cosmos (and the dragon).

If we can´t use bread and butter, just tie two cats together.

So the answer is two cats.
