What was the spelljammer names for them? All I can remember is rhastipede fo vrusk and the nickname deck ape for the uhm.. the short ape thing's. I can't remember the dralasite conversion name either.

Dralasite = Plasmoid
Vrusk = Rastipede
(Monkey dudes; I've blanked out on their Star Frontiers name) = Gromman (Deck Ape)

Plus, I believe the Sathar (I think; was that their Star Frontiers name?) = Syllix

Man, it's been something like 20 years since I last played Star Frontiers. (I still remember my dralasite medic, "Doc Blob," though. :) )

Man did I love Star Frontiers once those Knight Hawks Spaceship Rules came out.

The big dissapointment for us with the original set was the lack of spaceship rules.

We literally could not believe that the designers were expecting the players to not have spaceships. We were like "Have they even seen star wars? WTF? The game is called Star frickin' Frontiers"

The rest of the game rocked.

All of the races were pretty cool in their own way, the equipment was cool without overshadowing the characters, and the Volturnus series of adventures are, to this day, the best store bought modules I have ever run.

I'm hopping over to that "Dream D20 conversions thread" to post Star Frontiers, and kick my self for not doing it sooner.

Billy, you said it! I loved the Volturnus series too, my fondest memories of Star Frontiers.

By the way, FENZER is the name I gave to my Dralasite.

Nice!...I was the DM most of the time, so I have no "Character Name" to cough up:(

The closest I can come is a "Smuggler with a heart of gold" that the PC's interacted with the PC's a lot named Logan Bigelow.

Carried an Electrolaser and Smoked Cheroots.

Not exactly an original concept, but sue me...I was 13:)

No joke about being 13 or so. My fondest memories of Volturnus are riding around the desolate surface on a solar powered forklift armed with a recoiless rifle. :D

Also, I remember something about caves and fierce winds coming up every so often.

Oh ya, I also remember I designed a space ship, called it The Saxon and we hired ourselves out to anyone who would pay. We hauled poeple more than anything. We ended up crashing the thing on an ice world somewhere and left it for scrap. I still have the floor plans I drew up. I miss that ship. Fenzer was the pilot, go figure. With all those arms, he was a natural.

Ahhh Star Frontiers... fighting Sathar, saving Volturnus... oh yeah.

As a Yazirian it was cool to wear goggles... before Riddick.

Too bad the combat was such that you couldn't hit the broadside of a battleship...
