You know, one consistent complaint I've heard here is "Why doesn't WotC create new entirely new settings instead of making books for legacy or MTG setting?"

Well, considering Strixhaven was very likely made by both teams jointly, and is entirely new to 2021, I would say Strixhaven really is the first totally original setting made for D&D since Eberron.

I would have preferred something of a different genre, always hate magic school settings.
but let's hope the next one is different.
and I hope it is good for those that want it.

I'm looking forward to seeing the alternative cover as well but the standard is going to be hard to beat for mine.

We know about what has been released. Unless you have an advance copy, we do not know what they did in the book. Until we read it, we will not.

Read the Planeswalker Guide to Strixhaven, the Strixhaven web fiction and pour over the Strixhaven card gallery and tell me again we don't know enough to say that it's not based on Harry Potter.

This regular cover is much better than the Witchlight one, so I'm OK if there isn't an alternate on this one, although I'd love to see a cool magical textbook cover along the lines of what Candlekeep got.

disagree about "much better". To each their own of course, but I like both of them A LOT. The Withclight main cover is one of the first that I preferred over its alternate sibling.
