[Update on the below -- we have found a recent database backup made on May 8th. It is not clear yet whether this database is usable or if it has been corrupted. If it is usable, it will be uploaded in place of the Dec 29th database. Please be aware, therefore, that if this happens, anything posted or done in the last day or so will be lost, but we'll have the last six months' of content back again. It is too early to tell yet - it might not happen at all. We'll keep you posted.]
The site is now restored to the point it was at on midnight, December 29th, 2005. The reviews section is still closed pending a double check of the code (this copy of the database predates the current reviews code). This copy of the database also predates the last search index rebuild, so searches will be wonky until that index can be rebuilt - a process that will take about a week.
The GameStore should be unaffected as it was on a separate database. It should be opened again soon - we'll need to check it carefully first, just in case.
We've lost about 4,000 member accounts. If you registered after Dec 29th, 2005, you'll need to re-register. Also, if you purchased or renewed a Community Supporter Account during that period, please be patient as they will all have to be re-applied manually.
