D&D 5E (2014) Announcement coming February 6th

This weeks fireside chat (on February 2nd ) is being heavily teased as a “leaking” of the upcoming announcement. I’m putting my money on a multiverse manual.

I understand that, but I'm not looking for AL, I'm looking for those extended adventure paths. :)

I know you know this, but: You don't have to play AL adventures as AL adventures, of course. Even if it isn't an adventure path, four or eight hours (or more!) of a pre-written adventure gives you a nice core around which to build something larger. This is assuming you're already coming up with your own Tier 4 content. Better than starting from scratch!

I know that you knew that I know this...and now my train of thought has derailed, but I get what you're saying.

Including something Tier 4! Even if it's just one, I don't think that would be a bad thing to give something to a smaller percentage of their players.
It wouldn't be "bad," but the financial case isn't there: particularly with AL adventures in place.

They said they wouldn't do tier 4? Damn :-(

On the most recent Lore You should Know, Chris Perkins chats a bit about Epic Levels when discussing Mordenkainen, and he says “there are no epic rules for this edition....not yet, anyway.”

I don’t think it’s off the table. But likely it’s not an area of focus at this stage.

Maybe that is what I was referring to when I mentioned either a Dragon Talk or Mike Mearls' tweet about somebody mentioning epic rules in some way. Alright, that makes sense, it was Chris Perkins in his recent talk with Greg Tito.
