[Announcement] Skill Uses a Community Project

Crothian

First Post
In many d20 books they have new uses for old skills. I was wondering if anyone has created a master list of all the new uses in one area. I'm not looking for all the rules that go with the new uses, just what the new use is and what product its from. I think this would greatly help out people get more out of their skills.

Edit: Since this isn't in existance we as a group are compiling a list and out very own Dragongirl is hosting and formating the final product. So, if you happen to know of some skills with new uses in a book that hasn't been covered, please help us out and post them or e-mail them to her.

how specific would it have to be? the new uses for old skills in Sword and Fist could be listed by name, but Tome and Blood isn't that concise. (spellcraft gives long explanations, knowledge: arcana is a list of DCs with information to be gained)

anyway, without all the details....

Bluff - new use: Seduction
Diplomacy - new use: Know How to Address Someone
Gather Information -new use Know Important NPCs (it's called 'who's who' in the book)
Sense Motive: - new use: Decipher Strategy

or would it be better to list them like this:

Decipher Strategy (Bluff - S&F)
Know How to Address Someone (Diplomacy - S&F)
Know Important NPCs (Gather information - S&F)
Seduction (Bluff - S&F)

I think having the skill first, the new use second, and the book it comes from third is the best way to list it. Hmm, I guess it really depends on if people want to use it to see what their skills allow them to do, or to look up new abilities and see what skills that would require.

Well, both ways would be nice. :D Kind of an index + a reverse index. More useful that way.

very nice, Dragongirl!

Masters of the Wild -
-Handle Animal - New Tricks (armor, assist attack, assist defense, assist track, calm, hold, home, hunt, subdue, stalk, steal)

-Hide - Tail Someone

Defenders of the Faith - adds Craft (stonecarving), Craft (woodcarving) and Profession (astrologer) and gives specific examples of skill uses for cleric and paladins (ex: Knowledge: the planes includes information about infernal beings...etc. i'd think most people are using the skills this way anyway)

Oriental Adventures

(sense motive can be used to assess a foe in an iaijutsu duel)

Extreme Tumbling - uses for tumble at DC 30 and beyond
