My argument: Wizards of the Coast (and by extension Hasbro) intends to cut the Gygax Estate out of any royalties they may have been entitled to for the Dungeons & Dragons brand.

Discuss. :)
In fact it's worse than that : Wizards of the Coast (and by extension Hasbro) intends to cut the D&D customer base out of their hard earned money with a milking wallet scheme using the Dungeons & Dragons brand. ;) :D

These evil bastards! How could they take my money?!

;)

Yes but if you use the invisible ink marker from the old Invisible Ink marker adventures (Blizzard Pass anyone) on every odd numbered page and read the last letter on the page BACKWARDS it will clearly read:
Elvis Presley is Billy Idol.

Just sayin'.....

Here's a conspiracy theory of mine:

WotC's lawyers removed Lawful Evil as an alignment, thereby making anything lawful considered "Good", and paving the way for the GSL. :)

I examined and cross referenced several pictures within the PHB and DMG along with the cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band's cover and was shocked to discover that the Rouse was the Walrus.

* 4E has completely eliminated any references to the world of Greyhawk. Not only is it not listed as an early campaign setting, but all IP that used to appear in the core rules (i.e., Mordenkainen, Bigby, etc.) has been eliminated. Gary Gygax is known as the creator of the world of Greyhawk.

PHB 4E pg 161 - Bigby’s Icy Grasp

PHB 4E pg 164 - Bigby’s Grasping Hands

Hi all,

Is Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro trying to get out of paying any royalties to the Gygax Estate for Dungeons & Dragons?

This is why 2nd edition was released by TSR.

In all seriousness.

But that move did not in fact resolve the issue of royalties.

The issue was finally resolved when WotC bought D&D and made a final settlement with Gygax and Arneson.
