Another HUGE FFG 5-day sale.

Oh well. I'll wait to see what the next Paizo one is - I might be glad I saved the money, I suppose. :\

FWIW, I recommend grabbing Blue Planet, Wildscape and Dawnforge. The Seafarer's Handbook isn't bad either.

Prohibitive isn't the word. I looked at getting the Hobbit board game since it was only $5. Shipping for it was $53.90! I'm sure that FFG aren't trying to overcharge people on shipping but damn that's a lot of money for shipping. Oh well.

That's what you get for living in Australia! *heh* Seriously, that's terrible. I've got 9 books I'm planning on ordering and USPS Priority (2-3 day) shipping is just shy of $20.00! (It'd be less than $10 if I used UPS, but they can never find my house...)

Yeah, sometimes I did wish that I lived in America, but I quickly get over that feeling! ;)

Slightly more seriously, international shipping really does suck. Add in an exchange rate and things get costly pretty quickly. At the moment things aren't so bad because the Australian dollar is buying around $0.87-$0.94 USD. A few years ago though it was down around the $0.50 mark. It didn't stop me from buying RPG stuff but it sure did limit it. I really do envy US people that can cash in on these sorts of sales.

I bought three books and my shipping was less than $9. That's not too bad considering Media Mail shipping is $4 at a minimum. And you've got to throw in a couple bucks for the box and packing materials, and some money to pay the guys actually doing the packing, etc. So I don't think that the shipping was bad.

Of course we are all totally spoiled by Amazon which ships most things free, provided you spend at least $25.

Unfortunately that's the advantage Amazon has over most other online vendors. They can ship things cheaper and make up for it profitwise sheerly due to the volume of stock that they sell. FFG can't do the same. (Not that you were complaining about the shipping costs, quite the opposite really! :) )

I'm also looking at Midnight but, being a lazy sod with no experience of the setting, I was hoping there would be a printed adventure or two, or even a campaign. Is there?

Indeed... :( I was interested in getting all the six Blue Planet books for a mere 30$. A great deal!! However, the 70$ shipping costs (oversea) discouraged me to actually do it.

Fantasy Flight Games is having another huge sale of their games.

IF you haven't seen Midnight or their Legends & Lairs series, these are all great books. The L&L hardbacks are clocking in at $5 each.

Really good stuff.

Also, they have board games and card games on sale as well.
My bank account now shudders at the mere mention of your name. Congratulations....

:D

I pretty much filled up on Midnight, whether I ever get to run it...?
