Well, don't leave us all in suspense! Enlighten us with your hteory as to why that statement wasn't rude as hell.

Not theory, but experience. Most of the time we don't hear the other sides story, but on those occasions that we do, it's always apparent that the original whining side has altered the facts to some degree when presenting them to us.

Tada.

Human nature, we tend to try to present ourselves in the best light possible. Of course siding with the other guy based on the fact that we have not heard his opinion or that a person actually posted about a personal experience is goofy. This is a discussion board, if everybody kept thier opinions and stories to themselves it would get pretty boring around here real quick.

FWIW, although I came down pretty hard on the last thread like this, in this case I'm firmly on your side of things.

Lacking money is no excuse for ripping off a friend, which is just what this guy did. If he'd gone into your wallet and stolen $50, he wouldn't have excused it by telling you he was broke. Why, then, did he think it was okay to not pay for his share of the hotel room?

If you're broke, you don't go to conventions. You don't engage in expensive entertainment. Like always, you don't defraud your friends.

Sorry for your bad experience.

Damn, dude. Don't you think that's a bit harsh?

I think it came off that way, despite my intentions. It's really the use of the word "whine" that makes it that way. I suppose I could have said "complain" instead.

You're right, it is a bit goofy. It's just too often that people immediately support the "offended" party, and slander the other. But working on partial information is an unavoidable part of internet relations, so we've just gotta live with it.

Uh.. and my point was. . nevermind :o

Yes you can say it, we are all equally wrong. The least we can do is enjoy the ride though.:D
