Another Official D&D Game Rule FAQ Update

You know, I really wish they'd give a list of the changes at each update, or links within the document to them, instead of having to wade through the whole thing looking for the red text.

I don't have the energy to go digging through the thing every time anymore.

I must be easy to please. I'm actually happy they bother to mark the new changes in red, and I don't think wading through the whole thing takes me more than 5 minutes, and that's including time spent reading the answers.

Yeah, but I'm getting lazy in my old age :)

You can't expect me to be rational all the time!

I used to be in there all the time. Now I avoid it like the plague - or worse, like something that removed all the fun from gaming. ;)
That's funny. I find discussing and interpreting the rules to be part of the fun of gaming.

Now, discussing the finer points of the English language is definitely not my idea of fun, so I quit the threads when they move onto that.

Ditto. The Rules forum scares me and saps the enjoyment from the game by the over-analyzing and nitpicking they do. It's like a D&D lawyer nightmare in there.

Yep yep yep

It is a perfectly fine place to go if you want to find out where a specific rule reference is.

It is also the perfect place to go if you think that every single word in every single product is absolute and automatically takes into account every other word in every other document.

If on the other hand you think that a good DM should read a rule and actually implement what is said right there and use their own judgement for how that rule BEST works with other rules (in other words you want to A:keep the game fun and B: keep the game moving), then the Rules forum is a deep dark hell of destruction.

Let's get back on topic folks: hatin' on the Rules Forum deserves its own thread (if not its own sub-forum of Meta).

;)

No hate, just fear, which leads to hate but is still only fear. :)

(I've found the Rules forum very useful over the years but, rather than post, tend to go by own interpretation of rules after exhausting the books and forums of what there is to read on a matter. But I search the rules forum rather than check threads and read it.)
