Anubis vs. Upper_Krust (Referee: S'mon)

You should not post your actions here, but to a DM who describes what you see!

This is crucial to the testing. Agree on an arena, and then get a DM. In my opinion Simon handled this well untill he could not spend the time... Simon would be an excellent referee in my opinion.
I would say that another DM with whom none of the players has ever played before would be better, since clearly UK and Simon have the same view of the rules...

If you want to pick names out of a hat, I'll be happy to throw mine in. (My name, that is, not my hat). But an even better suggestion would be to track down one of the rules gurus- kreynolds or Crothian, or some such.

Unfortunately I still don't have the time to GM the rematch (term is starting and I'm hideously overloaded with real work). I agree that running it as an actual encounter would work, with you posting private actions to the GM and he describing only what you see. Re rules gurus - I know kreynolds at any rate has an almost diametrically opposed approach to me (darn _Sage-lovers_, burning's too good for 'em...) ;) so I'm pretty sure if he were running it U_K would have no chance of winning. A GM who's more of a compromise between us would probably be best - ie not a totally 'Rules Forum' type*, but someone more within Anubis' comfort-zone than I am.

*ie "letter of the rules" first, "spirit of the rules" a distant second, and "logic" nowhere - IMHO.

Uh, kreynolds wouldn't be a good choice, he and I have clashed on several occasions already. We're cool with each other, but not on really good terms . . .

Anyway, what about Piratecat? Could someone bring him here to do it?

Hi all! :)

Apologies for my tardiness in this particular thread. :o

My guess is hes going to be too busy; not only is he working as a writer; he also DMs at least 3 games and thats besides responding to emails and posts on these boards.

Personally I am in no real hurry to test this out. I have a lot on my plate as it is. ;)

If Cheiromancer was first to offer his services I am more than happy with that! :)

I don't think we need any more tests now that the issue has been cleared up.

That said, I concede that a Quasi-deity is not ECL +10. I do believe you ECL +14 is also incorrect, however, as shown in my post over on the other thread. Yes, a Quasi-deity is actually ECL +16.

By the way, I do not concede our previous match, but I guess it'll go down in the books as a match similar to Election 2000 . . . :D

Anyway, I guess that's it. This contest is (more or less) over.
