D&D 4E Any Chance of a 4E Birthright redo?

I was wondring if there was any interest in this setting? To me, it is the most adult minded settings ever created.
I never played in the original setting, but I have tremendous interest in Birthright -- in part because it's the game we always wanted to play at higher levels, once everyone had strongholds and followers.

It required a high level of proficiency in dm'ing to come up with great political based story arcs, and a great deal of roleplaying from the players, something that post 3e has been missing since the change to a tactical simulation with some role playing splashed in for effect.
What you point to could be considered a weakness of the setting; I certainly think it points to what the game developers could focus on to make the game more playable.

I have really liked what Birthright.net did with updating the setting to 3.x, and I hope that those same stalwarts will take on the task of 4e updating. It's one of my favorite settings too. =)

I agree that the folks at Birthright.net did a good job on their conversion, but I hope that any 4e update will be completed sooner. By the time a conversion was complete, it had been years since it was started, and 3.5 had been announced, forcing them to revise everything. When that was finally completed my group had lost interest.

In my opinion, when they opened up their rules ideas to input from anyone on their message boards, they totally lost any chance of releasing a timely product.

For any 4e conversion, the writers need to learn to make decisions regarding rules and stand by them. At most, run it by the boards once for any glaring deficiencies, then implement it. Otherwise they will be in the same boat as the 3e conversion.

Well said, I agree totaly. Too many cooks spoil the soup. I think that from a players pov I liked the fact that there were points of light towns and cities and then everything else was very fark ages, very isolated and remote. I loved the way the religions all were vying for the people and guilds were more like corporations on the outside but sneaky and manipulative on the inside. I wouldnt mind if wizards took what was best from it and made a whole new campaign.

I always liked birthright also, not so much for the characters being regents themselves, but for running what was going on in the background of the world while my players were playing adventurer. Well done overall, and lots of areas to explore, enemies to fight and so on. It will never hit 4E, I do not think. but I hope Brithright.net pick up the slack.

I certainly hope for an update.
I ran a Birthright campaign til the end of 2e, then another in 3.0, and two in 3.5.
If nothing else I hope someone can come up with a good fan conversion.

Agree with this completely. What they finally did come up with was outstanding, but it was so delayed that I was on to other things when it finally came out...
