Any companies using the old SRD?

Hey all. I was wondering if anyone had heard of any companies that were going to produce only 3.0 materials, or possibly dual statted materials. I'm not converting - the mass of senseless changes kill whatever benefit may be had by fixes IMO. And both my groups feel the same way.

Even if someone was promising dual-statting, that would be something. I know they are roughly compatible, but I'd just as soon not have to convert.

I haven't heard of any companies doing so and I'd be surpised if any did. I just can't see it making sense to cut off the 3.5ers. You figure that the people actually buying books would have already bought 3.5. Why cater a book to people who aren't buying books?

I'm running a 3.0 campaign and don't plan on converting. However, I still think the 3.5 monster layout is mucho better. Well worth having to translate a few spell name changes. I'm using the 3.5 MM entries pretty much unchanged.

I don't think they can, they have to conform to the latest SRD.

That is incorrect. Once material is open, you can use it indefinitely. They can use the 3.0 SRD, 3.5 SRD, mix the two, or whatever.

I buy books and they are cutting me off. I used to spend $100-$200 a month on 3.0 books. I refuse to buy 3.5 stuff so that money is now going elsewhere. If someone produced dual stated books I would buy them. But heh thats just me, I figure no-one else would do that and I am the only one.

You mean like all the people who just downloaded the new SRD, or the free update guides from WotC, rather than buy the new books? ;)

I don't see any evidence that those who are refusing D&D3.5E are any less book-buying than those embracing it. I think it's a bit presumptious to assume that the only people who wouldn't have bought the new D&D core books are those who generally don't buy game books. GIven the mixed review of the changes, i'd expect there to be plenty of people who have chosen specifically not to buy those books, but still want new stuff for their D&D game--*without* the new changes. And, given the ease of getting the changes without buying the books, there're probably plenty of people who want material compatible with the new stuff, but who didn't buy the new books, either.

I think the "mixed review of the changes" is grossly overstated. There are no 3rd party publishers that I am aware of that are not going to 3.5. Dual statting seems like a complete waste of space to me. You can convert stats backwards in less than a minute in your head if you even feel the need to do so at all. This whole gripe is superfluous.

Well obviously established games written assuming the old SRD (like spycraft, T20, AU) will probably not shift much. Of course, some of those games use so little of the SRD that you would scarcely notice the difference.

Monte said on his board he would dual stat "as much as possible" by doing things like providing DRs for both old and new systems, etc.
