Any idea for a Chaotic Good Dwarf fighter

DarkMaster

First Post
I am currently searching through all books to add some flavor to one of my player character. She is playing a Chaotic good Dwarf fighter and starts to complain about how she feels limited by the character, no skill, makes noise with the armor, nothing special except tons of feat.

I look through various book and cannot find either a core class to multiclass with or a prestige class that would fit this type of character. The only option I see is to propose her to buy some magic items like boots of elvenkinds and google that increase the spot and so on.

After looking through tons of prestige class I really feal like chaotic good player are quite limited compared to lawful good ones. and if you are a dwarf figther it is even worse.

Any one has a good idea

Thanks

Go for Holy Liberator, Devoted Defender, and/or Templar.

Ditch the super-heavy (and noisy) armor, slap on a Chain Shirt, and start adding on a few levels of Rogue. In just a few levels the character will gain a ton of skill points to play with, a boost to survivability thanks to Evasion and Uncanny Dodge, as well as the thrill of dealing out extra d6's of damage while Sneak Attacking / Flanking. Even if you don't have the best DEX in the world, many of the cool Rogue abilities are not actually linked to that stat (e.g., Sneak Attack, Trapsense).

Certainly there will be a ding on the BAB and hit points compared to a plain fighter, but a few levels of Rogue adds some flexibility to an otherwise straightforward (and boring?) character.

Plus, think of the roleplaying options. Why did this otheriwse stalwart dwarf decide to "take a walk on the wild side" and delve into the world of skullduggery? Templar, Holy Liberator, Dwarven Defender, are all tied to love of the Clan, love of the Diety, blah, blah, blah...all the old dwarven cliches that are well worn out. Make your dwarf stand out by taking the road less traveled, as it were.

4 words: Wulf Ratbane. Ftr/Rog. :D

Otherwise I'd think about a pure dwarven subterranean ranger... or a dwarven bountyhunter (ranger fav enemy humans)... especially worthwhile with the dwarves con bonus. Check out some UA ranger variations.

Guerilla warrior would be another design. Does she have some ideas where the character would come from?

I will see her tomorrow and propose this subterranean ranger type, or the rogue but I doubt she will be willing to lose combat ability.

If that is the case she will be the third character out of five in the group with ranger level. One Barbarian/ranger, and a rogue/Urban ranger(a bit modified from the UA) and now fighter/Sub ranger. Thanks for the suggestion I will see what she thinks about it.

Actually, none of them are. Holy Liberator requires you to be CG actually. That said, I don't always think its a good idea to model a character to shoe-horn into a prestige class.

You should think about how a CG dwarf would fit in with the rest of the campaign world, or at least the dwarven community. Dwarves usually are lawful so this character could be an outcast; a rebel who distains stuffy dwarven traditions.

Both also add to combat ability. Sure BAB will be lower as a rogue, but sneak attack is a nice addition.

Ranger/fighter is probably best, since that's what she is (as you listed above) mainly complaining about (lack of skills). Of course, she should have started with ranger then.

Where can I find the holy liberator? She is actually an outcast, with her friend the Dwarven Cleric (of a CG dwarven diety) She was thrown out of her community for being too wild and unrespectfull of dwarven tradition. Her friend the cleric seeing that she has potential to become a great fighter of Haela Brightaxe decided to follow her in her exile and convert her to Haela's way.

While the godess way suits her style, she doesn't want anything to restrain her.
