D&D 5E Any news about upcoming 5e WOTC products (post April 2016)?

On the marketing issue I think Wotc market each product pretty well. Each time something is about to come out I'm excited to see it. I got everything except CoS - I didn't get CoS because I have I6 and am not a huge fan. The critical role stuff and such like markets the brand well (if I was wotc I would sponsor critical role just to keep them going - they are great).

Marketing what they produce is fine. Production increase is what I want. But that's a conversation we've had many times before.

It just felt like time for a new product mention, even at Wotc speed. Not yet I guess.

I'm honestly surprised with the lack of marketing from WotC with 5E. I know that they are purposely releasing less products for 5E, but they also don't seem to be doing much to maintain people's interest in between products (especially as they aren't announcing products more than a month or so before they are released).
Assuming you really are talking about lack of marketing (and not lack of product), how much is there to talk about Curse of Strahd (about the only "current" product)?

Given their relatively sparse product schedule, I have the opposite reaction to yours:

I am honestly NOT surprised of the lack of marketing at this stage.

We're mid-way between product releases and also heading into the quiet summer period. WotC holding off until their fall release is known and school start is ramping up, is not surprising at all to me.

2. There's been discussion about how technically difficult it is for D&D Online and Neverwinter to incorporate larger creatures into their video games. I think the specific example was creating Tiamat for the Tyranny of Dragons storyline IIRC. Giants (of the Huge variety) could pose similar technical challenges. Not insurmountable, but definitely something they'll be devoting development time toward.

Just to pop in and say that Neverwinter has loads of Cloud Giants already. They are one of the main enemies that you fight/grind/run away from during the Air element of the Elemental Evil levels.

I expect the next adventure will be released in July or early August, as the last of the Adventure League adventures will release in early July. As to what the adventure will be...?

The current ALPG has an end date on it of Aug 25th, so if they hold to their current pattern of the next book releasing just before the new season, the next adventure book will hit preferred stores the middle of August and regular stores and online sites right before the new season starts on Aug 26th.

Last year the release timing was off and they did not debut any new books at GenCon, but it looks like this year the dates match up so that the next book may debut there before hitting stores.

As for any info on the next book, I would be very surprised if they said anything official before early to mid-June.

Piggy-backing on what @designbot said, Chris Perkins also mentioned the level range of two upcoming releases (Curse of Strahd and ?):

Against the Giants (the original G-series) spanned only 8th-12th level. So it would be a prime candidate for a "little shorter still" and "set in the middle." Moreover, Chris converted the series for 4th edition in a labor of love.

Two further thoughts relating to the trans-media strategy and Against the Giants:

1. Predicting Eberron because of airships might be problematic when it comes to tying the adventure into the Adventurer's League season. Traveling to the demi-plane of Barovia in Curse of Strahd required devising a way to get the PCs from the Forgotten Realms into Barovia. But Ravenloft has the whole "sucked in by the Mists" trope. I'm not sure they have an equivalent for traveling from one Prime Material World to another. Spelljammers maybe, but Chris specifically said "airships." So maybe instead of Eberron we're looking at something based in Halruaa of the FR?

But, tying in the potential "Against the Giants" AP to the "look for clues in books for future releases", Hartsvale was covered in some depth in SCAG, and that's the prime giant area of the FR setting. Granted, it's about as far from Halruaa as you can get on the continent, so I'm not sure how the airship part will come into play (one traveled waaaaaay north from Halruaa? Maybe one locally built?). Conversely, I can't think of any real "giant-y" areas around Halruaa at all, thinking on it...

No announcements, but Crawford said in a recent podcast that he's working on four books, it comes during the last 5-10 minutes of the interview. One of the books is a big adventure, and "at least some of the other three are not adventures". However, no specific details of any kind were given.
