Any one have The DEEP yet?

While you are in your FLGS picking up your copy of "The Deep", also look for Goodman Games "Boundless Blue", an aquatic creature collection. Then ask the store employee to break open a few packs of WotC plastic minis, until you can get a handful of kuo-toans.

(of course, you are free to wander over to www.lobi.com/bpaa , after that) :D

It is interesting that the Deep came out at the same time as Boundless Blue...Totally unplanned.
It appears that the book is now in most of the stores in the US that are carrying it so folks should be able to find it.

Ghostwind, Wet dream aye, that is punny.

Is this some sort of porn thing? :p

"Pants," eh? Hmmm....Not quite sure how I feel about that...

Re: The Deep, haven't seen it yet, but my interest is piqued. I'm about to start a campaign with a strong aquatic element, and I'm hoping it's got some goodies for me.

If your campaign is going aquatic even for a while there is plently of material in this book for ya. There is a preview at our site at www.mysticeyegames.com in the free stuff section.

And some aquatic info in the next issue of DRAGON, it seems.

We are going to be releasing a PDF web enhancement for owners of the Deep (one of several) that contains about 15 pages of more underwater creatures as well. I will post an update when it comes out.

DRAGON #314 "Guardians of the Deepest Sea" by James Jacobs

"The waters of the Underdark hide a secret group known as The Darkwater Guardians, and organization devoted to preserving the deepest of waterways. Water spells, feats, and more will cleanse the stain of impurity from the waters of your world."

Hmmm.. where is my subscription copy??? We covered so much ground in The Deep I wonder if this bit in Dragon will have any value for me and underwater campainging.

As I have been running an undersea campaign since 1998, I'll take any undersea reference I can get ;)

BPAA has had a bit of a hiatus, as I struggle to convince a few players that they can, in fact, converse with one another and leave posts of substantial length. This will change, starting tomorrow, as a new "Chapter" in my PbP is posted, a fresh round of recruiting begins, and the antagonist NPCs in the campaign get organized.

btw, as far as undersea web enhancements go, how about a set of printable "dungeon tiles" featuring sunken ships, reefs, and other undersea terrains?

I just got my copy at Necronomicon yesterday, and as Ghostwind said "it is the marine biologist gamer's wet dream"

I have only read the first few pages this morning, but from my initial glance, it looks amazing. In my 17+ years of playing, I have not seen an underwater book as good, at least by what I have read so far.

And on a side note, comparing to what I have of MEG (which only numbers about 5 books, too poor for more) this is the best laid out book from them that I have seen. The text is clean, the layout good and the art better than a lot of the d20 stuff out there, especially the art by Roel Wielinga, whom I had the pleasure of meeting this weekend at Necro.

I'm going to go now and read some more of it. I will try to post a little more on The Deep when I get a chance.
